I like how frustrated they are that /r/leagueoflegends is going perfectly fine without them. It's about time Reddit moderators come to realize that they are irrelevant and that large subs will continue as they always have without them.

How come this sub keeps adding more and more mods? Even cancer ones like Krusty are here.

Our mod teams grows as our connections and affiliations expand. Besides, the number of mods we have does not reflect on how we moderate the sub itself. We filter very little and allow the community to decide what's good content and what isn't. If you have suggestions or legitimate criticism, please let us know. Pointing to the (meager) number of mods does nothing.

So you add more mods because of growing connections and affiliations? Isn't that the problem with powermods and their cliques who add others to their subs just because they know each other?

I don't get how you can call 20 mods for a sub of 6000+ "meager". It's by no means a standard ratio and it is a very high one. I don't know why you've been constantly adding more mods either. Going off the theme of the subreddit, cancer doesn't start off instantly fatal. You start off small, or benign. It's harmless at first, you're not filtering anything like right now. But over time it grows worse. It becomes hard to track what every mod is or isn't doing. Constant brigading and drama chips away at your ideals and motivation, and you start justifying the removals of posts and threads. In the end you become the thing you hate.

Power should only be given unless necessary - I would genuinely be surprised if you provided a list on why each individual mod of your 20 are needed. I do recognize though that I am not privy to your modmail or the reasons why you've recruited people so there is a lack of information on my part. I just want to tell you guys that as a regular user it looks really bad that you guys constantly add mods.

The mods are definitely part of a cabel. Check out the subs they mod? Notice something?

They all tend to mod the same subs.

These mods are the cancer that this sub is against. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised if they set this sub up as a false flag to divert attention from their own antics.

It's possible to have a network of people who aren't corrupt. The amount of connections we have spans far beyond who gets mod privileges here. We try to be picky.

We keep track of what is happening in SRC. We can see every action each moderator takes. I assure you we don't take it lightly and have discussions on questionable activities. If there is an instance of something you think is unfair or biased, please bring it to our attention. We regularly have people sending us modmail asking for permission to post, and the response is always "Post it and let the community decide".

Not all mods are active at all times. The list could be the few of us that were around for the initial days, but that's how things get stagnant, and that's fewer people available to sift through the shit when it happens. I can tell you in all honesty that all mods are here based on merit. Either from past subs we shared or because of posting quality content/commentary on SRC. BTW, shout out to /u/gamergatefan who was modded for being a quality contributor to the sub.

I get where you're coming from, but I hope you look at our actions instead of our numbers. I'm taking time out of my night to address your post and hopefully explain to more people with your concerns, that if we were anything like the cancer, this wouldn't be happening. We remove spam and pure shitposts, and that's it. We may have more buttons to click, but you guys collectively run this sub as much as we do.

Thank you for the shoutout.

In the majority of subreddits I use my moderation powers to focus on only three things, the spam filter, automoderator maintance such as for the purpose of removing spam & ensuring posts meet formatting guidelines for subreddits that accept submissions of media related posts and tagging related things. And last of all, I also answer questions for users. I very rarely remove posts and ban users, and I'm hoping this subreddit isn't so bad that I'll have to start doing so much more often, as I believe very strongly in the downvote and that removing content is not to be taken lightly. I prioritize my time on things like those above because I believe I am here to serve the people and not my own interests, and that is the best way to do so.

I am not quite sure where my responsibilities will lie in this subreddit, though I will do my best to fulfill them, but will likely focus on continuing to answer questions and provide insight and help were it is applicable.

I'm addressing this publicly so our regulars get a feel for what we talk about.

You really don't have to do much up until a handful of people (usually SRD) gets a hair up their ass and decides to shitpost everything into oblivion. I think we had one guy a few days ago spamming some shit that went hard against global reddit rules, so he was reported.

A lot of it can be, if you choose to, addressing concerns in the community, as I generally attempt to do. The mod queue is usually clean thanks to the other vigilant mods. We run a sub that revolves around distrust for moderators and sometimes that turns against us. Be upfront about it all. Play it straight, and be honest. Don't be a dick to anyone who doesn't deserve it. I think that's all any of us ask.

Was flytape removed or he step down?

[–]DR_ANUS_MDDrunk Mod 0ポイント1ポイント  (1子コメント)

He left on his own. He, like many of us, had issues with how another moderator handled something. Both flytape and the mod he had a problem with removed themselves.

Krusty isn't cancer. Not by a long shot.
