i’m gonna publish this for anyone else who’s wondering about sonic-for-real-justice. this gets kinda long (sorry!!) but i think it goes over all the major events of the whole ordeal.
originally, there were 6 mods, each based on a character from the sonic the hedgehog franchise. also, there was a rules page that was basically a code of conduct for the mods. one of the rules said not to turn off ask/submit, and another said to be nice to mod silver because he’s “delicate.”
about an hour or two after the blog’s creation, one of the mods posted noting another mod had turned off the askbox. mod silver replied saying he had done it because he had become overwhelmed. mod amy replied to silver, upset that he closed the askbox and hadn’t made any posts yet, and asked him to get on skype.
many people started to get mad at mod amy for breaking the “be nice to mod silver” rule. she made a post, basically saying she was in the right and that mod silver had been kicked from the blog. later mod sonic confirms.
i don’t know if it’s people genuinely caring about a set of rules from a sonic-themed anti-social-justice blog or if it’s people who just want to piss off anti-SJWs, but since this incident there has been an outcry in support of mod silver and equal backlash against mod amy.
for a while, the “be nice to mod silver” rule was changed to “be mean to mod silver and be nice to mod any.” mod amy also apparently got into a fight with mod tails
basically, the sheer ridiculousness of it all is what turned sonic-for-real-justice into a meme (even though this is apparently upsetting to the blog owners…)
so… that’s basically it, so far! they already have over 1k followers and continue to grow, but i think it’s safe to say most people are following to laugh at them/hatefollow.
