Since bringing the network down to a crawl is relatively cheap, and since shorting bitcoins is possible, shouldn't we all be bracing (or planning) for a huge attack before the hard fork?

Also, as a captain of industry myself, I plan on taking out shorts and letting someone else do the work, in true butter fashion.
