Remember that Volcano Giveaway? (self.trees)

Back in February there was a post that was giving away a Volcano Vaporizer. Well, to my surprise, I actually won. Obviously, I was super excited and told my friends.

I emailed the company back and forth a couple of times, confirmed my address and age. They told me it would probably be shipped in a month or two. No biggie deal.

I hadn't heard anything in March and was leaving on a trip, so I sent them an email. I was told that they were still finishing the review video and it wouldn't probably be shipped until April, like the original email stated. Again, no big deal.

April was coming to a close, so I decided to email them again. Was told that their previous editor had been slacking off and they had to reshoot the piece. They apologized. Again, no big deal.

Another month has passed and I haven't received an update. I sent another email on Monday but still have not heard back.

It's no big deal if I never get the volcano but it would be nice. Just figured I'd post an update for anyone wondering why the winner hasn't posted a picture of their new toy.

EDIT: I have been contacted by the company. Put the pitch forks away. Seems I didn't receive their last reply. Don't care if it's delayed, shit happens. Thanks for the help /r/trees

Many of you are pointing out that I'm sounded like a pushover. Don't really care if it seems that way. I've worked in customer service and never wanted to act like one of my customers but guess I finally have.

I wouldn't even be surprised if it was VapeWorld. The head shop I work for does a lot of business with them, but there's usually always something missing from their packages. They rectify it, but how hard is it to put vaporizers in a box when you have the invoice right next to you.

    Hired out a local person off craigslist to film it. He showed me examples of what he did and said he could do it in 1-2 months. He wanted a small down deposit which wasnt much so sure. He then stalled and sorta left out in the cold and stopped replying to all emails.

    Got a new person that seemed to be the right fit but wanted a ton of cash. We are a small operation, not some muli million dollar company ha. So that sorta didnt pan out.

    Decided to work with someone who is a friend that does it professionally and he will help teach someone here how to do it. This seems like the best fit as we can have it down in house.

    Sure. It was a contest for a free volcano. We give away products after reviewing them. The problem was it takes time to find someone to do a video for not a crazy high price. Keep in mind we are not a company that sells anything. Basically we give away free stuff.

    The problem was the last person who was doing the video, stalled and then disappeared.. I kept in touch with him, but totally didnt reply to the last email with an update. That was my fault. Had the draft all set up and thought i sent it, but i did not.

    Our little operation is just a few people, so its nothing major so mistakes do happen.

    No worries the volcano is here and will be sent.

The bottom line is this company fucked up and is being very unprofessional, it should be a big deal that you don't get the Volcano because you won and you were promised it.     [here in VA, usa] you can't take someone to court over something under 500, and unless its a rent issue or a breach of contract [which you might actually have here] they won't see minor things under 1000.

    I would recommend just making continuous contact with them, regardless if they send you he same email reply every time. Remind them every 2-3 days that it has not arrived and you would like the shipping information at their earliest convenience. Annoying the shit out of them is your best weapon at this point.

    I actually should correct myself. My error was in the assumption that "no lawyer would take a $120 case over you owning 50% of your college roommates furniture". But in reality very few people probably use a lawyer in small claims court, so if it wasn't costing you anything but whatever you would've gotten at work, its definitely possible. so you should find out where their headquarters are located and file a case lol

    I can get an oz for $109 with taxes but it's only like 14-17% thc. Good stuff is like 60 an eighth. All I know is I'm no longer concerned about getting busted, so I've got that going for me, which is nice.

    I don't know how bad it was in Co. I can't believe it was bad. I've been caught with joints in Texas and was let go. In Oregon the worse thing that would happen is a ticket. I'm use to paying 8 bucks a gram for awesome homegrown hydro. Now prices in the WA stores is 15$/g for the crap and 30-60$/g for "good" stuff. And now my grower tells me he has to shut down because of the new laws. So the way I see it, it went from being easily accessable to people who are in the know, which is fine by me. If you don't know how to get pot, you shouldn't be smoking it. Those are the young christian kids I see acting stupid when they get high. To now any dummy can get it and prices are exorbitant. But clearly you have something special in CO, I don't even get how you are paying under 4$/g with tax. Fuck Oregon and Washington for fucking over people. Just another reason to move to CO.

    The price ranges from 10$/g to 25$/g. That is actually cheaper than I thought. However it is still 2-4x what I pay. And the quality doesn't even match. That's what I'm talking about. So fuck you.

    You have to factor in that some of that price comes from all the taxes on it. No shit your tax free sales are cheaper. Also your dealer must be dumb for selling that low

    Washington got sneaky thought. In one more year all medical shops are forced to close. Oregon was going to do 1 dollar per gram but rumor has it they are going to do 5 dollars per gram flat tax. Sounds fine at first, but if you buy an ounce you are looking at around 150 just in taxes.

    Yea that is the current rumor mill. It will be fully decided by the olcc. Washington just reduced the price though. It use to be taxed at the grower and shop. However I am not sure if that went into effect yet.
