Me. I hated Clannad. I found Nagisa annoying and the art was distractingly bad. The eyes, in particular. After Story is better, up until a certain point where the whole show just tells everyone who enjoyed it to go fuck themselves.

Idk, the first season was pretty mediocre. It isnt until like episode 8 of After Story can i say the anime gets good imo. It is really strange for me because i thought the entire first season wasnt worth watching at all because it was just so boring even according to average slice of life harems. But it is necessary if you want to watch AS, which is pretty damn good (i actually likd the ending as well).

Eh i didnt feel it was very enjoyable, but different people have different opinions. Like for that genre, i appreciate some good comedic moments played out but likeable characters. Clannad didnt really deliver very well with that imo, but AS sort of makes up for it. Or well it does for most people at least.

I agree, I liked it a lot when it was just a simple slice-of-life anime like in the first part. The second season had better animation but it had a lot of random "leaps" in the story line. I overall thought it was a good anime but not nearly as the level of toradora(romance) and it was not really that tragic since everything got fixed at the end. The only part that still annoys me was that girl that wanted to pass out starfish in the first season but she was a ghost, that was admittedly sad.
