Maybe. That would probably be considered a poll, but if you added an "and why?" or a "why not any others?" it would be fine in my book.

No. It's literally because it's a yes/no question. That's it. Add an "and why" to the end, and it would have stayed just fine.

Honestly? There are 8 million users, and about 40 mods. We do our best with the thousands of posts we see a day, and sometimes, dogmatic application is the best route for the long-term goals and growth of the sub.

However, I don't expect everyone to understand or agree. And that's your prerogative. But I'm not here to argue whether it's good policy or not. I'm here to tell you it's what the policy is, and that's why the post was removed.

You're welcome to submit the question in a way that complies with the rules. Something like, "How will Ellen Pao's "Safe-Space" vision for reddit impact your future on the site?" would be okay.

The thread itself shows that to be true considering no one answered the question in the way that the rule is supposed to prevent. Read the rule. Read the thread. See that there's no parallel to what is supposed to be restricted.
