Exactly this, it's just a way for mods to say "see we told you so" and not learn the term "moderate" for their vocabulary.

The sad part is how many people actually don't see the hidden meaning of their actions. A lot of people are just seeing "woo no mods" and then you have another group of people who have been following everything and know EXACTLY the type of manipulation the moderators are going for here.

And then there is my group, loyal shruggers of not giving much fucks.

Probably the right approach. Have a little fun and laugh if someone tries to pretend it means anything after the fact.

[–]McDrewbs[SillyLily] (EU-W) 6

And then there's me by myself who thinks the Mods are probably just fucking pissed off and can't be fucked, so are doing this to have a break from all the shit they normally put up with.

"I'm just here so I won't get fined."

For reals though...Lcs is back this week...of all weeks for this shit to get pulled.

This is all calculated. They are purposefully leaving the sub open and unmoderated at one of the highest likelihood of traffic to the sub. They are hoping against hope that things go to shit and they will be forced to step in and "save" the sub, or at least justify their overarching powers.

Yep, I'm just here for esports drama and dank memes.

I thought they were being pretty transparent about that. I'm hoping for a best case scenario where the mods come back, say "i told you so, we're so great" and then they dont get downvoted when they talk to us and we can actually discuss the new rules like civil people instead of downvoting them into oblivion. Everyone wins!

Because seriously, I can't think of a single other way to fix the current community and its intense hatred of everything the mods do. We can't even talk to them like it currently is

Sadly, yea... When they tried to discuss about their new ruleset, some people tried to argue and discuss the rules but most were just bashing them, making it hard for them to counter-argue/discuss the new rules.

Many reasonable responses to their threads the mods ignore. Maybe you haven't noticed. "It's these rules or no rules" - this is what's happening right now, they know full well the subreddit will struggle without moderation, when the issue has never been about mods vs no mods. When they return they'll be "validated" and "proven correct". None of this has anything to do with civil discussion on rules, people have tried, the mods ignore the most relevant, upvoted comments in their stickied threads often.

This subreddit is only surviving right now because nothing else comes close to the functionality of it.

Looking at the top comments on their old thread about the rules... most of the top commenters were just as ham-fisted against the mods as I imagined. It really seems like people just wanted no moderation.

I see this excuse coming up over and over again, and it's just wrong.

The top upvoted comment (/u/Risenlazurus ) on the rules discussion thread was a reasonable discussion that addressed most of the concerns users have. The mods ignored it completely. Instead they responded to bullshit comments with bullshit comments and whined that they were being downvoted to oblivion.

His post... ugh. It was inflammatory, insulting, and missed the mark on pretty much every point. There was some good discussion in the child comments of it, but I can see why they didn't respond to him. And look through some of the comments they made in that thread, they were like "oh, we should change this rule" "our bad, let us clarify that" and just got downvoted anyway.

Some people are taking this way too seriously. Just like the game itself.

Well contrary to a lot of people, I really like Reddit.

[–]JesseNL[Slappez] (EU-W) 0

I know it and I don't care. I'm just getting sick of constantly seeing bitching about the mods instead of content.

But content is why some people ARE bitching at the mods. You're basically saying you want to see content but you're also unwilling to get in there and try and get what you want, while people trying to improve things (whether you disagree with them or not) are the ones you're sick of bitching?

I'm just saying your perspective here is a strange circle.

[–]JesseNL[Slappez] (EU-W) 1

I get where you are getting at. But the mod-drama for me has been going on too long. And I don't really care anymore about all the things the mods did wrong.

This is actually pretty disgusting behavior, if that is indeed what their intent is.

[–]Digmo 0

I have no problem with this.

Everyone knows the mods are going to be back in one week, praise themselves as the saviors of the sub and keep doing exactly what made people mad at them before no matter what kind of behavior / post gets upvoted.

So I'm just going to sit back and enjoy my week of dongers and shitposting.

OR, we try to fuck up the subreddit so hard, that the mods regret it, and then get shit talked for it even more
