That scene played out exactly like the leaked audition dialogue did.

I dunno, I was pleasantly surprised. My surface reading of that audition was that it was pretty corny, with them keeping up the flirting the whole time even as Bronn started to feel the poison.

Bronn very nearly died, and it was clear that the Snakes were toying with him. It was a bit silly, but better than I was expecting.

Yep, I read that, and figured that antidote scene would show up. Kept my mouth shut as well, since this place has been pretty caustic recently.

[–]kneeodMakes sense if you don't think about it [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

And fortunately it didn't play out anywhere near as cringey as it read.

I really like the Sand Snakes when Obara doesn't speak.

"My name is Obara Sand. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Well, she did speak in the episode. Her lines weren't out of place though, and they went smoothly.

That rack is enough to make any man dizzy.

[–]MikeClefton*Fewer 47

Honestly that was insane. Sorry Mel but youve been dethroned.

[–]busdriverbuddhaDISSECT, find out what it means to me

The throne for living characters, you mean. Ros is still uncontested.

[–]doceffectWe are different [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

The funny thing is, I think Bronn was going to mention Ros when he started with "In King's Landing there was this..."

Seriously tho. Was his sexual arousal the trigger for the poison? Because it was a little too well timed.

[–]MrRedTRexThen you shall have it, Ser. [

Sexual arousal = increased heartbeat = better circulation of the poison? That's my completely uninformed guess.

Thats what I believe they where going for as well. If it was just timing, it was pretty bad but the sexual thing is actually a clever thing.

Also, why did she give it to him? Do you guys think they're going to team up and steal Myrcella away? That would be cheesy as fuck.

[–]MrRedTRexThen you shall have it, Ser. [

Do you guys think they're going to team up and steal Myrcella away?

Probably. People here have been saying he'll play the Oakhart role and meet Hotah's axe. I could see that. Presumably he'll be kept separate from Jaime as well, so he won't get word that Mrycella doesn't actually require saving.

Because there was no reason to kill him at that point.

[–]PhiladelphiaIrishSer Brian [

Because the fight for his life in which the wound was inflicted just didn't generate enough blood flow.

[–]DkS_FIJI"We do not show" 24ポイント25ポイント  (8子コメント)

I think that the theory that Bronn works with the Sand Snakes and meets Hotah's wife just got a very big boost in possibility of happening.

Hotah's wife? Did I miss this in the books? What's the consequence of that?

Hotah was raised by the "bearded priests" of Norvos, whose religion requires that he wed his own axe.

His axe is his bae

I'm worried about that too

[–]DkS_FIJI"We do not show" 2ポイント3ポイント  (3子コメント)

There aren't any other major characters in Dorne who can get axed, and I feel they need to have someone die...

Obara plz

Inb4 that antidote was just a different type of poison

[–]ThenateoThe Mannis 37

Maybe she got naked in order to increase rate of blood flow, making the poison more effective sooner. Although that's probably unlikely.

I'm pretty sure that's the intent. The thing that doesn't make sense is why she would bother saving him.

[–]Merker6Tony Stark, Lord of Winterfell 20

Because she could be executed for murder? I kept thinking for the whole scene that they were going to be screwed if Bronn died. Doran don't give two shits yo

I don't think anyone cares if Bron dies. Jaimie would be another story.

[–]Merker6Tony Stark, Lord of Winterfell 5

They are already being held for attempting to kidnap a princess. If Bronn died it would become murder

Underlings aren't really cared for in this world. I bet you there will be zero consequence for Jaime and Bronn killing the Dornish guards.

Hey, I mean he is a landed Knight now. I could go either way I suppose

Bronn is husband to a lady now, making him noble.

I thought it was just toying with him and letting him know not to underestimate them.

It's too coincidental that as soon as they start talking he goes from 99% to 1%. It did let him know not to underestimate them though.

[–]dragon_nipplesEnter your desired flair text here!

Ok, i guess the point is he had a tourniquet tied to his arm, and what she did sexual aroused him forcing his heart rate up allowing more poison to flow into his body.

Oh of course.

But they totally want to bone.

My guess is that she's/they're looking to manipulate Bronn, and saving him is the first step.

I think he would be more inclined. to cooperate because he wants to fuck her.

Bronn is a horn dog and I love him.

[–]Zoesauce [

Maybe that's how D&D add in the Oakheart suicide plot line? Bronn falls for Tyene, Hotah smash and Bronn bites the dust?

[–]keyree♫ He rocks in the Eyrie all day long ♫ 7ポイント8ポイント  (0子コメント)

This specific shot (NSFW obviously, it's from /r/watchitfortheplot) makes me think that the nakedness was a deliberate part of the poisoning thing. Heart rate up, get him fixated, something of that sort.

[–]Azor_ash_hiThe King Who Bore the Sword 3

Lol I know, thats such a dumb theory and doesn't make even make sense for a tv structure.

[–]CptxMorganThe Drunkstar 3

More like Bronnheart.

[–]WorlddMy luck [

That was one of the sillier show-added scenes I've seen. It pretty much summed up the problems with the show. Tits (they were amazing at least) into a ridiculous plot twist with the antidote all summing to a wasted scene. As much as I like show Bronn, him dying would have at least made that scene not so "what the fuck was the point of that."

I totally agree. The whole dialogue made me cringe. I'd rather see Bronn die than have this ridiculous dialogue in the show. I totally get why they need to cut A LOT of important characters, dialogues and character development to adapt the books to screen. But why do we get stupid scenes with no other point but to show some tits on screen instead?

[–]WorlddMy luck [

If we added up all the fatty bullshit that they've thrown on the screen or the near Spartacus level softcore porn, I'm sure they could have popped out a Greyjoy. Would the Greyjoy have been an award worthy book-to-screen transition? No, probably not, but I don't think Olyvar or Nym are bringing home the gold either. Or maybe just more than one Yara scene per season.

[–]MrRedTRexThen you shall have it, Ser. [

Bro. Nothing will equal Spartacus.

But theyre also working with the knowledge of how it all ends. So its possible that the greyjoys dont even matter.

[–]valyrian_freeloaderFamily, Duty, Dread Cthulhu [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

The poison/ antidote trope was straight from Saturday morning cartoons. Completely wrong tone for the show.

However, the acting was way above the other Sand Snake scenes. The sensual manipulation, annoyed looks and internal facepalming did more to differentiate and characterize the (show) snakes than anything so far.

[–]Shiera_SeastarI ain't sayin' he's a grave digga 16

I know a lot of people on here were distracted by the boobs; even I had to admire them. But the Dorne plot is not improved.

"Let me slowly undress while the camera pans up and down for five minutes, and then give you an antidote to the poison ?!?!"

That scene was just as cringeworthy as the others. I'm sure you guys won't mind rewatching it a few times to confirm.

[–]keyree♫ He rocks in the Eyrie all day long ♫ 5ポイント6ポイント  (2子コメント)

I'm pretty sure boob distraction was the whole point of it, except aimed at Bronn instead of at us. That's Bronn's perspective, right? Once they come out he wouldn't be looking anywhere else, he would have been looking her up and down and back up and back down, so that's what we saw.

[–]charmer_Crow's Third Eye [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

No, it's a super slow acting poison. he'd probably been sitting in a cell doing nothing since the fight; she got naked to increase his bloodflow and induce onset of symptoms from the poison. Just to mess with him, show him his life is in her hands, before giving him the antidote anyway cause Bronn is such a lovable bastard.

I thought it was a great scene, not cringeworthy at all and definitely the best SS scene so far.

[–]keyree♫ He rocks in the Eyrie all day long ♫ [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

I totally agree, and I don't think they're mutually exclusive.

true that, why would she save the life of a man working for the lanisters? bronn has some serious plot armor

[–]ghost_movementHearth, Heart, and Harvest [スコア非表示]  (0子コメント)

Hey im counting on him dying. TV shows love to save a character in the most bullshit way possible only to turn around and kill them a couple episodes later. 24 and Michelle Dessler.
