Didn't people say same about Labour in the '80s and Tories after '97?

Labour = Tories in disguise.

The thing is once all the tribal votes die off they won't have a voter base. As they used to be people who looked out for the workers not anymore...

I think its just the problem is that they always go after the "workers vote" when the biggest class in the UK is the middle class. New Labour realised this. They were in power. Since then Labour have moved left and there voter base has gotten smaller. The further left labour go the less likely they will get votes IMO.

Conservative policies are not the only ones the middle class like, they are not one homogenous blob. You're massively over simplifying things.

Some are left leaning, some a right leaning, some are centrist. Not everyone votes based on their income. Selfishness plays a part jn that but so does someone's opinion on collectivism vs individualism.

My father makes over a hundred thousand a year and has voted Labour in every election apart from for Michael Foot. I made fuck all when I was young and nearly voted Tory.

There aren't enough brown and/or gay people in the UK for a Labour majority.

The middle class isn't really the majority I'd say. Life exists north of Watford you know.

That actually makes it even more stupid that labour targeted 'minority' groups (I say that with best respect). I think we don't need social liberalism forced on us nowadays, I think we're in a pretty good place on that. Labour just weren't with the times.

Fewer people regard themselves as working class today than at any other period in history, with 71 per cent self-identifying as middle class.

From the article.

Well around about 25% are middle class according to surveys in 2013. It may not be the majority but its the biggest social sector.

Oh the north isn't that bad. My family comes from the north.

They spent 13 years importing a new one. Now all they have to do is wait.
