That certainly does not represent the point of view of the individuals who claimed that the states had the right, as well as the legal and biblical authority to outlaw interracial marriage prior to that decision.

Additionally, based on your argument in which you assert that the sole purpose of marriage is in order to produce children (BTW, Are you aware that children's can be produced and raised outside of the institution of marriage? Shocking, I know...) should we ban couples who are incapable of getting pregnant from getting married? Should we legally require any and all married couples to have children? Should childless marriages be invalidated and automatically annulled after a certain interval of time?

After all, as you have argued, the sole purpose of marriage is to produce children.

Maybe you should leave the Catholic forums and try /r/askscience or /r/science for a change, where they are actually discussing science and not cherry-picking based on a set of beliefs.

In fact, I just did some searches to try and find anything that would be considered evidence evolution and every. single. site. was hosted by a religious group. There isn't any existing evidence against evolution whatsoever.

And, just for good measure, I just dug up this comic that explains evolution in a very clear and concise way. I'm sure you won't read it because you are clearly very set in your ways, but I did go through some effort to find it, so I hope you can find it in your heart to open your mind and actually bother yourself with reading this.

Or, adversely, if you can link me to a book or research paper that isn't religiously-based (that means 0 references to God, 0 references to a church, and not funded by any sort of religious entity) AND is an accredited scientific study (meaning it went through the actual rigorous process of the scientific method and peer review) that disproves evolution in any way, then I would be absolutely happy to read it and acknowledge your argument.

You're basing this opinion on a religious view, the RCC view in particular.

What biblical justification do you have for this opinion? If you're Catholic then you know the New Covenant relieves you from OT Holiness Law, and Jesus doesn't mention it.

The Pauline passages used in support are very weak considering they don't actually talk about gay relationships at all and both "sodomite" and "homosexual" are words that were added much later. In fact, "sodomite" made its first biblical appearance in 1508 and "homosexual" was in 1946. There were Greek words for same sex relationships, but none of these are found anywhere in scripture. That's an awful lot of change and addition for an "infallible" book.

So in all of your six passages supporting this view only one is clear, and it is in Leviticus which is no longer applicable to Christians. Are you this passionate about the over 300 verses talking about love and service to others?

The fact of the matter is the Church has caused more direct harm to individuals and society than any gay person ever could. The vast majority of Catholic tradition has little to no biblical support, and is historically on the wrong side of science and progress.

If you don't have biblical support and you don't have scientific support, what do you have?

Oh, that's right, you have a book written by Catholic woman. Maybe she should have focused on the verses where it says women should be silent and never presume to teach a man? Or are those alright to ignore since they're old fashioned and ridiculous?

You are not the authority on scripture. Therefore any scriptural interpretation on your part is pure speculation and non-binding.

Who is the authority? The Magisterium of the Catholic Church. And what does the infallible Catholic Church have to say about this?

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Paragraph 2357:

Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

"Basing it self on Sacred Scripture...intrinsically disordered...grave depravity...contrary to natural law...closed to life...Under no circumstances can they be approved." (this would include marriage)
