Can you really blame the Soviets for wanting to remove the nation which invaded them with the stated intention of exterminating them as far as possible from Soviet borders? Expulsions of Germans were one of the best things the Allies did in WWII. It ended all possibility of Germans once again claiming other people's land because Germans lived there.

The German civilian casualty count stands at a 1,2 million due to bombings and killings (only 200 thousand of which were due to the expuslsions). To put that into perspective German killings of civilians totaled:

• the Holocaust: 5 times the number of German casualties
• in Yugoslavia: 1,2 times the number of German casualties
• in the Soviet union: 12 times the number of German casualties (not counting the 6 million civilians deaths from disease and famine)
• in Poland: 4 times the number of German casualties

So yeah, let us all mourn the terrible fate of the invaders and the fact that Germans got punished for trying to eradicate entire nations through organized genocide.
