From another article:

“I am strongly against the obsession with ‘sensitivity,'" Hough wrote. "The more we have emphasized sensitivity in recent years, the worse race relations have become. I think that is not an accident. I know that the 60 years since the Montgomery bus boycott is a long time, and things must be changed."

I've been pretty hard pressed to find the entire comment that this person wrote, but the bits and pieces that I have seen didn't seem specifically written to be inflammatory or noxious as some people have described... they just seemed to be written somewhat bluntly.

I haven't followed this case very closely, but it seems like he's being crucified for pointing out an elephant in the room with an "insensitive" writing style.
