I was there and I'm proud to have helped evict this scumbag. Of course, they make it mostly about Denis Thauvette being a non native and only mention he was a criminal, when that was the main reason people wanted him out.

The first image is an article from the Eastern Door (local newspaper) describing the incident where he threatened a local family and was sent to jail for threats, drug possession, and warrants last week. He got bailed and came back to town. The neighbors were scared he would do something else. That's why people wanted him gone. The second image is more background of his violent history.

I wish I had the right in my part of Canada to drive my nieghbours out for whatever reason pleased me. I mean fuck i'm sure theres more than one neighbourhood that would like to drive out the former sex offender or drug dealer they know lives nearby.

Yeah, but as I said before this guy was threatening people as recently as last week, and he's been an ongoing problem in that neighborhood for a while. The neighbor who filed the complaint against him with the police also posted on Facebook that they were scared for their family, so the community went to evict the problem individual. If someone else posts about another individual like Denis Thauvette threatening people then we will evict that person.

So you kicked a family out of their home because the guy was a criminal?

Does that go for all the families that contain people who have criminal records? Or just the white ones?

I bet you're real proud of yourself, scaring children out of their home. Real fucking tough guy. How very brave.

How is it any different than Canada kicking out a foreigner for having a criminal record? Unless you don't believe reserves should have the same sovereign rights as Canada

Due process and a court order.

Sovereign rights only work if they are not dependent on the federal system to make ends meet.

If you are Ok with the idea of forcibly evicting non-native criminals from your community, then how would you feel if native criminals were forced back onto their reserves by non-native towns and cities?

I thought the excuse for the eviction was due to the fact he as a white man had received a court order that he was to reside with his girlfriend on a reservation.

I thought the eviction was more of a protest against a court order forcing a white man to live on native lands.

I see now it was just Nimbyism in it's most savage form.

I don't have the right to kick my neighbors out. Even if they're stealing my property and terrorizing my family.

I know; I've tried. They were native, I was accused of racism then the death threats came...

Thankfully their landlord was able to kick them out after the back of the house blew off while making meth.

I sometime wish I could evict the natives that keep stealing all my shop supplies and scrap metal back to the reservation.

Instead they get a 2 day healing circle & I have to hide & secure anything of value on my property.

I wish I had white thieves... then they'd go away for longer and I could sue them.
