He was wearing a hoodie that blocked his peripheral vision. In all fairness he probably didn't think he was pushing away a foot because he wouldn't have expected there to be people dancing on the school desks.

To me it looks like he has been bullied before when trying to study and he was just pushing what he thought was a hand away.

He definitely pushed it away without seeing it. Why would he expect it to be a foot? People standing on your desk is not a normal thing to anticipate.

There are three people dancing enthusiastically on desks to what we can assume is music playing. I'm pretty sure hoodie noticed. Still doesn't give them any right to stand on hoodie's desk though.
