/ic/, I do plenty of sketches but never have a finished piece as I see it as a total of my mistakes while the sketches are just developing on the areas I'm missing. How do I get myself into the mindset of completing something?
>>2088341By making sketches which actually look good. If you have a nice sketch, you won't have big problems wanting to finish it.Also, it is dumb to see your drawing as practice. When you start drawing you have to look at it as some kind of project. If you go at it with the attitude of just practicing, it is like you spend your whole time in a dumb tutorial. You won't get anywhere.
>>2088346>When you start drawing you have to look at it as some kind of project. If you go at it with the attitude of just practicing, it is like you spend your whole time in a dumb tutorial. You won't get anywhere.I get this. I was stuck in a phase for a long time just studying, and treating it like studying, it sucked the passion right out of me. Now I'm having fun drawing again, and improving at the same time. I just need to complete work. My sketches are obvious sketches, they're small most of the time and not overly rendered when big, and generally amongst other sketches on the paper. I'm talking about doing a piece seperate from this. I get half way trough my paintings before I learn enough to realize all the mistakes made then stat again, the next one is much better but I run into the same wall, the best parts seem to be the inital ones, where I'm discovering and learning, the rendering and finishing at the end I feel like I'm polishing a turd.
>>2088350Well, then perhaps just try to make it less difficult for you. Perhaps you just try to make too fancy paintings and render too much? You also can finish a sketch by just adding ink and doing some simple watercoloring or whatever, and it still can look good. Perhaps you are just more the drawing type of person?

>>2088367onta/doxy runs three sites that i know ofhardblush (MxM furry), wetblush (non MxM furry) an trapfuta (reincarnation of prismgirls without outside hired artists, it's general pop cultural ephemera porn, tits are usually involved)hardblush updates 4 times a week an wetblush updates 2-3 dependin on how well that patreon's doin.also, i miffed a bit an miscalculated, sayin his update expendatures were 36k by roundin months to 4 weeks. at 52 weeks a year with 5 hired updates a week at $150 minimum, it would actually be 39k per, so tack another 3k onto that figure i came up with for $86874.74 per year before deductions.but seein how much he makes on his doxy patreon tho, we should readjust our estimates for how much he takes in net each year.currently that's $1750.22 per week from doxy patreon an $530.41 from the wetblush patreon.i have no idea how much hardblush makes, but it's enough to pay for 4 updates per week, so we'll substitute wetblushe's goal of $700 weekly for the equivalent.$2280.63 combined weekly from patreon, subtract the 5% fee, along with say 10% of people who dodge their patreon payments (this is probably underestimated) an then throw that guesstimate for hardblush back on there for for a net income of $2638.54 per week, extrapolate for a year to get $137,204.08 annually, throw in a couple thousand from merchandising an simplifiy it to a flat $140,000.Comment too long. >>2088401That's one of the most hurtful things someone's said to me... because it's true. Dammit, now I see it. I guess this is the part where I try to justify myself by saying the sketch and lineart was made for a 30 minutes challenge and that I liked it enough to color it. But yeah, now I can see the stiffnes of it all.
oh yeah, this thread's s'pposed to be bout tits or somethin
>>2088402Seems like a fair assessment, but I'm still confused as to why he's blowing so much money on hardblush and wetblush. If it costs him 150 per page to hire artists, and there's no way the sites can make that money back, why throw that much into it when you know it's going to be a losing investment? Some twisted sense of heroism? Devoting your income to making sure furry lovers can fap to porn?I find it hard to believe that Doxy isn't taking money baths and fucking supermodels at night, with that kind of income.
>>2088419well from what I can remember he lives modestly in his own apartment. He likes other artists he admires and treats them well, and if you're not an inspirational artist to him he won't give a shit about you.unless you're really popular and can benefit him. Like maniacpaint and shadman.
A fun exercise I just thought up. No cheating now!
couldn't escape making a doghorse, god damn it
A three legged horse(the leg in front is double sized so I saw no reason for the giraffe(yes, it's a giraffe now because fuck yeah giraffes) to have two front legs. Then I ran out of drawing space so the neck became a cobra. Best of all, it didn't even take me 5 minutes. Enjoy your free...'art'
First time drawing / painting a horse in at least 10 years, jebus that was hard>Head took 20 minutes out of the 30, first looked like a dog, and then like a cartoon cow, until it looked like this, had to do quessworkIts supposed to be jumping, or shit
I'm too sleepy to be doing this for 30 minutes.

Can we start a "delusional artist tales" thread? Kind of like /fit/'s "fat people stories" threads.I'll start.>be me >be a couple of months ago>working on a project on photoshop>pretty much one of the most knowledgeable guy on photoshop besides the teacher himself>not surprising this is a 3d graphics class no one has touched photoshop before. just coming in on my free time to work>teacher sends someone to me"Hey this is student wants to learn photoshop. He seems really interested at your skills.">myownapprentice.jpg "Yeah, sure. I'd be happy to show him around.">sit him down give him a rundown of the basics. brush, lasso, eraser, hardness, flow and opacity. "My sister draws anime a lot. >>2087929Why do anime 'fans' always 'draw' like they don't give a shit instead of practicing and learning like the manga artists they worship?
>>2088008why are kids so fascinated with "creepypasta" characters? it really confuses me as a phenomenon.
>>2088295because theyre actually more fascinated with the ideas and stories associated with the anime than the actual animations themselves.i believe being an artist who draws anime makes them subtly autistic, but not so autistic that their actual artistic talent should be disregarded completely.next time you see an awful anime artist, try helping them.
What are you working with, /ic/?
This is usually how I paint, with a lighter style of easel. An 'ammo bag' with tubes of paint and those wet nap serviettes (for cleaning hands off outdoors).
>>2087287This is the scene it is based on. Gridded up. Naturally.I will need to purchase some taklon brushes in order to paint those straighter lines, like in the frame.
Does anyone here use a Silverpoint kit?Renaissance style!
>>2087293If that is your own drawing I want a blog link. Neat as fuck.
>>2088398Not that guy but do you even read? Also the grid should've told you something. Gridding is disgusting.

One more brush fuck-around before bed.
sorry for shitty picture. This was for a high school art class. I'm sure it's done poorly but I kinda like it, what's /ic/ think?
I drew this awhile back freehand referencing an animal calendar. Any critiques? What to do to make it look better? I've drawn a lot in my life when I was younger, but this was the first thing I've drawn in nearly two years, and this was back in march, I still haven't drawn anything. Anything I can do to get into drawing more?
>>2088085I'll do that
>>2088342It's pretty interesting. The face needs work, but you're better than some of our regulars.
Do you consider Pixel-Art as Art?
>>2088197>You can pretty much do everything in pixel art the same with beadsI agree, but as you say:>most image results are copied from popular old gamesit's not about the capabilities of the medium as much as who it attracts. though needless to say it's much easier to design and edit sprites on the computer, and at that point you might as well print it out if you want a physical version of your pixel art.
>>2088104someone doesn't like sparkle dogs lolyou don't need to act like its so offensive to post a sparkle dog on the thread, this is a pixel art thread. all pixel art styles are welcome. (this saying, i may not like sparkle dogs that much, but i don't need to bitch about it?)>at least it isn't that bad of quality like this
>>2088227>Pixel art is probably closer to mosaic and almost identical to cross-stitching and beadwork.Agreed. And you're right that there are similarities with pointilism (in relation to the technique of dithering), I'm just saying that the relationship is frequently overstated.
>>2088238Except that that wasn't pixel art, nor a pixel art "style".
>>2088238It's definitively deviant art in the worst way possible. Fuck off. Also, what >>2088386 said.

>>I almost burnt the house down when the tip i was lighting before use for the first time fell on the carpet, apparently you have to burn em before use? since they have a cheap chemical layering on top?does any one know what type of ink is in the image?any tips on dip pens?love how they work like markers.
If the tip is hot enough to almost burn your house down you're not doing it right. Just one pass of flame over the thing to liquify the coating so you can wipe it off. Jesus fuck anon.
