It's an insurance policy if SHTF. It's generally a bad investment but it's good to have some gold/silver.

Why would metals have value when SHTF?

Because you will always be able to exchange gold for blow jobs.

Fed is scheduled to raise interest rates then. Doom-and-gloomers believe that when this happens, the Treasury will default on its bond debt and the stock markets will go supernova.

What's more likely is that the Fed will cave to investors and keep kicking the can down the road.

Not entirely sure this is the right place for this, but friend of mine recently had €500+ stolen from his bitcoin wallet, and there seems to be absolutely nothing which can be done about it, even though I have followed his entire blockchain and watched where all his coins ended up..
I think there's a slight problem with the deregulation of cryptocurrency, and although it works to it's advantage in some aspects it's also its downfall in the massive amounts of hacking & bitcoin theft

If you found the wallet, look at who they make transactions with. Chances are that they use some gambling clearnet sites. Contact the owners of the gambling website and send them the address and see if they have an IP address. It can be any bitcoin service they use though.

I guess learning how secure his money wasn't a priority. It's really not that difficult to secure your wallet. Idk why you are bitching about the money someone took from a hapless fool.

There are plenty of great reasons to hate on bitcoin and whine about it. Being so retarded you can't keep the most secure digital tokens in the world safe from theft is not one of those reasons.

Now if you were trying to teach your grandmother how to use them or something, I would have a lot more sympathy. I don't give a shit when normal people can't secure their wallet. Learn to read fuckers!

Short volume is still surprisingly low and there is still a shitton of money to be made off of the BTC ecosystem in general so it's a good idea to be involved with it.

This.

Using a decent javascript pastebot on a legitimate dice gambling site will easily net you $50 per week minimum as long as you're not retarded about it. I've made $600 in a week just because I got lucky on a streak while I was asleep, and my unluckiest streak ever still made me $50. Dat math.

Paypal was a great idea. Right time, right place.
After e-commerce took off paypal was bound to make good money.

Zip2, which he sold for over $300M was pretty shit. Without that stroke of luck I doubt he would be where he is today.
Kind of reminds me of Mark Cuban and broadcast dot com. How the fuck that sold for 5.7B is just confusing. How yahoo even had 5.7B to throw at something like that is even more confusing.

Sup /biz/,

I'm a poorfag who managed to get into one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Right now I'm finishing up my first year. Sounds great, right?

The problem is that I can't help but notice all the opportunities that I've missed out on because I don't know how to behave like I should. For example, I don't know dining etiquette. My idea of "dressing nice" before a few months ago was a cheap suit from Men's Wearhouse. I don't know how to befriend and interact with my wealthier peers who came from Phillips Exeter or St. Paul's or whatever the fuck. I've been actively excluded from things that could greatly benefit me as a result. I know that if I could fit in with these people, there would be a nice Wall Street job lined up for me come graduation thanks to all these kids' rich daddies and their huge professional networks. And not only are these kids at the top of the economic latter, they're also the "in crowd" here, and getting with them means I'll have social status as well. Simply put, I stand to gain literally millions of dollars and tons of pussy by impressing these people. And that makes it more frustrating that I can't. I know that when I graduate I'll have to interact with people like this when I get on Wall Street so I think it's important that I start learning how.

TL;DR: How do I learn how to behave around/network with rich people? How can I dress in a way that will please them as cheaply as possible? How can I find presentable formalwear (NOT cheap Men's Wearhouse shit) for as little money as possible?

I learned some details about suit construction from Alan Flusser, but the guy's pretty pompous and stuffy. Not really 2015 campus material.
Styleforum.net has good info, but is also dominated by people who take an "eccentric hobbyist" approach to clothing, so take it with a grain of salt.
A while ago I decided to cheat at life and be the best at everything, so I studied fashion. Since I've boned up to my satisfaction, these days I'm all about nutrition and health.

Will a private marijuana company as big as Anheuser-Busch emerge? I see a lot of small companies starting to pop up, and with the legalization not only in California but in other places, I have to wonder if someone is going to make it big.

Income earned from "illegal" activities are still taxable and are required to be put or return forms. That's how they got Capone I'm pretty sure. He was arrested for tax fraud.

Check out Ebbu, that's what they're trying to be.

I'd say O.Pen will emerge as a big contender if they perfect their vapor pens.

Keep in mind that California is still technically medical (their licensing system is intentionally a joke, but you still gotta get that card), and since a medical dispensary is assured that its customers went through the extra steps to buy weed from a store, they can be assured that their demographic is hardcore stoners and dealers who are just thankful they don’t have to fuck with a supplier any more. There's no incentive to not look dingy. Some medical-only dispensaries in Colorado are like this, but increased competition has pushed many to clean up their act.

This isn't the case with recreational stores- They knew from day one that they'd need to market to the average Joe, and that the entire world would be watching news broadcasts from their sales floor. If they want the mainstream to adopt their product, they have to look respectable, clean, posh and, above all, legitimate. Pic related is the result.

>bars are for poor people and alcoholics, and most respectable cities ban them anyway just like they ban open container

erm, what? I have honestly never heard of a single municipality that has banned bars. Unless you live in Utah, a creepy-ass sheltered suburb or an incredibly weird part of Oklahoma, I cannot think of any reason why a municipality would care about a bar. Its blisteringly obvious that you need to do more research, and should learn something about data analysis before you try to play the big boy's game of arguing on the internet.

>I live in Sweden, and most, if not all the other Nordic countries are the same.

Well, I live in Finland and I'm quite sure your progressive Sweden is a very unique snowflake there, sorry.

Well, sure, we have "housing cooperatives" but I've never heard of co-ops forbidding renting out. Actually, I think such a rule must be written in the rules of the cooperative which you can and definitely should read before buying an apartment anyway. And changing those rules requires an uncontested vote in cooperative assembly, meaning that when you own a share, you can effectively block such rule yourself. AFAIK, the overwhelming majority of cooperatives place absolutely no restrictions on renting your apartment. And profiting from the rent? Well, of course that's possible. Who in their right mind would think otherwise?

Now, the cooperative has a right to evict a tenant or even the OWNER of an apartment in case of severe disturbances, but that actually requires a court order which isn't something that happens willy-nilly. Getting rid of a bad tenant is actually somewhat slow and hard, even in case of unpaid rents, (and good luck trying to recoup the costs from those people...) which is kind of a bummer.

Usually people give good advice in the resume threads I've seen so I hope I can get some too. Looked in the catalog and nothing really there that's similar so I'm starting my own.

ANYWAY: I'm applying for a position at an investment bank which will start as administrative tasks (paperwork, inventory check) and then once I prove I'm not retarded I will be handling my own clients. (All info I got from the friend I have been referred by)

I have very little work experience, I only run my business and am looking for ways to flesh this out. I have a solid knowledge of investment products/strategies which is why my friend recommended me but I want to assure them I can fit in with an employment situation.

I sell a lot of different products online. What relevant skills from my business can I use?

I currently have

• Inventory management
• Recognizing demand and opportunity
• Customer satisfaction/Conflict resolution
• International import experience

The only thing I know is this:

1) you need land, land approved by the local govt for a cemetary

2) cemetarys usually go hand in hand with a funeral home that offers all the services associated with a funeral

good luck, oddly, it seems like it would be a cool venture. I know undertakers make damn good money, somewhere between $150k - $200k a year.
