Hijacking the top comment, as I've received some reports about this thread. I'm not removing it, because I'm letting the community decide if they think it is legitimate. If it is true, he's posted a lot of interesting info.

I removed previous speculation, but understand that this is the kind of individual providing the information. Obviously could be completely bluffing, or telling the truth. This is previously why we did not allow leaks. Whatever he says cannot be verified, considering the "proof" provided is anything anyone could make. They don't mind acting like they are throwing someone under the bus just to stay relevant.

If this information is true, it is whatever, but realize the source you are getting it from, and understand that nothing they say is guaranteed. Do not get your hopes up unless it's from an official source.

Wouldn't it have been better to delete the photo or message them than blurt out the salary?

So you are going to not remove an obvious troll that just happens to give this reddit sub the world premiere on some REALLY major news if it were true?

Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit.

At this point I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't.

The thread was made while I was away from my computer, and it blew up. I'm not going to go through and delete a thread, especially with the recent discussion ban trouble that I had to fix.

However, the user in question did go against what was asked of him, and decided that creating multiple accounts to force his information through (his "proof" was incredibly lacking). Because of this, I contacted the reddit admins, they investigated, and banned his IP from this sub.

I've stated several times that if people want to believe this information, that is on them, and them alone. It may very well be true, but the source has not provided any credibility. However, if I close this thread, then the topic for discussion is gone, and people will be angry. If the community wants to discuss it, then more power to them. If it received a ton of reports, and was negatively downvoted, then I'd remove it, but people clearly want this here.

At the very least I've flagged it as misleading, as there is nothing here that is guaranteed.

Fair enough. My apologies for calling BS.

There's a ton of information out there, and it's hard to filter through a lot of it (especially with recent happenings). If anything, maybe use this as a learning experience. No harm, no foul.

So basically the day after mods decide to ban any f2p/b2p talk you allow a thread that talks specifically about said banned topic despite the fact that the "evidence" they provided may or may not be true... This thread changes nothing. We STILL can't be sure without an "official" statement in which this is most definitely not.

So basically the day after mods decide to ban any f2p/b2p

The day after A mod decided to ban those discussions. That mod has since been removed for that and several other reasons. I've never promoted banning positive or negative constructive discussions. This has been discussed in the meta post stickied at the top of the subreddit.

despite the fact that the "evidence" they provided may or may not be true

I've stated several times that this could be fake, and how it could be fake. However, being the only mod, this topic took off while I went to have dinner. I feel there would be more negatives removing this discussion, than keeping it.

At this point, it's up to the community on what they want to believe, and how they want to speculate. Carbine isn't getting the community's hopes up (because they aren't posting this), so if they want to believe this leak, any expectation that is not met is not on the game or devs, but on those buying into this setting up potentially false expectations.

I'm letting the community decide if they think it is legitimate.

This is honestly a terrible policy. The community is prone to getting riled up (which isn't unique to this subreddit or anything) and can't be trusted to make a decision like that. The OP also can't trust the entire community with personal information proving they're an employee of CRB. That's why places like /r/IAmA have people PM the mods.

This is honestly a terrible policy.

I definitely would not say this is a policy. It happened while I was away, and blew up. If I removed the post in question, because of it's lack of proof, there would be an uproar of people saying I'm censoring and fanboying for Carbine.

I had the user IP banned via reddit admins, because after being told no, he insisted on breaking not reddit's rules (making multiple accounts to spam).

The damage is done at this point, so the best I can do is let people know that the source is not credible, and to be wary of the information that he is providing.

Oh okay, so his shadow ban was requested by you, not Fran?

You should flair this thread with an "INCORRECT" or "NOT TRUSTWORTHY" tag so people are aware, because the top comments are still the OP responding to questions. I had to scroll a bit to see this comment.
