                                                                  1. They are naturally agressive and territorial. This includes against humans.
                                                                  2. There is literally no natural predators for them, even bears say "fuck that shit" and turn around because they can quickly get outnumbered.
                                                                  3. They tear up crops and landscape, I believe they do a process called "rooting".
                                                                  4. They carry disease and will foul up ecosystems and cause other animal populations to migrate or even die.
                                                                  5. Their breeding habits are comparible to rats.
                                                                  6. They are also super intelligent like rats.

                                                                  So, they are the nemesis to anyone with land they roam, basically. Cause they will attack and potentially kill humans.

                                                                    There is a glacier in Iceland called Pig-mountain-glacier. Svinafellsjökull.
                                                                    It was named like that because that's where the last feral pig in Iceland was shot.
                                                                    Pigs would have destroyed the entire island otherwise. Vegetation is already scarce because of the climate so livestock is not easy. Goats and sheep will only eat the leaves of the plants and maybe the smaller stalks. No problem, it will regrow. Pigs however will dig up the roots to eat as well. Leaving the land barren and vulnerable to erosion.

Years ago, the coyote population got way out of hand, and ranchers were losing their calves. So, most everyone went coyote hunting on the weekend, and after several years, the coyote population was dwindled down to nearly nothing around here. Suddenly, large litters of feral hogs sprung up, tearing shit up everywhere. The coyotes, even though they were an expensive nuisance to the ranchers, were actually keeping the feral hogs at bay by taking out the piglets.

Coyotes are just too small and even in large groups it becomes very hard to bring down calves. Cows get very aggressive around coyotes as well and it is very dangerous for them to even try.

                                                                          I agree. This is a cute video, but the species really is a bigger problem than people think. I've hunted and killed 5 wild boar (I'd suppose they're closer to feral pigs) in Florida, and I've seen what they are and what they can do firsthand. Some of these fields are destroyed--as if a machine had tilled over them. They also breed like crazy--there's no "mating season" for them. One of the males I killed was mounting a female when I took him. They're amazingly aggressive, and there's nothing more unsettling than wading through shin-high, snake filled water hearing a low growl in the bushes.                                                                                                                         Ok story time. In July my father had spent the day chopping and splitting wood. He decided to quit about 5pm and fixed himself a Bloody Mary and climbed into the hot tub. Now my parents live in the country and being free spirits they use the hot tub naked.

                                                                                                                        So my dad, with my mom joining him, were relaxing and drinking after the long day. Suddenly two wild pigs run down the pasture and start tearing up the yard and causing general mayhem. Father stands up so quickly that he gets light headed and falls out of the hot tub, breaking his arm and knocking himself out.

                                                                                                                        At the same time the neighbor shows up carrying a rifle, because he saw the pigs when they crossed his land, and he wanted some bacon.

                                                                                                                        So there's my dad, naked in the grass with his bits exposed to God and everybody. My mom is naked in the tub not knowing what to do, the neighbor is waving his gun and the pigs are eating the garden.

                                                                                                                        This was one of those times where you have to laugh because there's nothing else you can do.

                                                                                                                        Dad broke both his radius and his ulna about 2 inches from his wrist. The pigs got away, but the neighbor shot them a few weeks later. Mom is still pink with embarrassment, and has bought dad a pair of swim trunks.

                                                                                                                        Feral pigs are no joke.

My grandmother and my mother, when she was a child, were driving down a back road somewhere. Their car was comparable to a pinto, maybe a gremlin. Anyways, as they were driving, a giant feral pig rammed them from the side, killing itself instantly. It apparently was a local farmer's pig that had escaped, grown in size, extreme size at that, and became enraged at the sight of their car. They ate a lot of bacon for a long while after that.

They have tusks that will shred humans, pets, livestock, and other wildlife, even without provocation. Many hunters that use dogs to track them will outfit their dogs with special kevlar outfits to protect them(at least the smart hunters will).

A pig reaches sexual maturity and is able to reproduce at 6 months old. So the sow by herself, if she has the same size litter every time, will go from being one pig to being 43 pigs in a single year. By the time they have all reached sexual maturity, the first 2 litters have had 2 litters and the youngest litter has had one, and half of those are females, that single pig has turned into 800 pigs....in just a little over a year. Its commonly known as the "Pig Bomb"

                                                                                                                                      correct term is "furrows", and most row crops normally have some sort of furrow where the dirt has been pushed up either side into a bed where the seed's planted. I don't know what particular crop this would be; I haven't seen many beds squared off like these.
