Social conservatives, since /r/conservative wants republicans to get rid of us, why don't we do them a favor and unsubscribe and join /r/socialconservative (self.Conservative)

Pretty simple actually, let's let the neocons have their party of abortions, gay marriage, free birth control, and everything else liberals want, while ignoring the entire foundation of society is built on traditional families working that allows 20-30 year olds to get free stuff.

I'm sorry. I really don't know what you're talking about. I read this subreddit all day. Who here said social conservatives should leave? Also, all those offenses you mentioned, pro abortion, gay marriage, etc. etc are democrat talking points, not conservative. So really, I'm confused.

Please clarify.

P.S. An antagonistic post like this makes me leery of the /r/socialconservative sub. Are you a mod over there?

edit: Oh I see, downvote without any answers. Where have we seen that tactic before?

I don't know what the original thread said - it's deleted. Judging by the title, it was a "cry in your beer" post. I can understand being sad today. I don't see it as a consensus by any means.

The post itself was asking where the party should go. Many of the top comments expressed wanting to drop social conservatives.

Most of the posts here saying that Republicans need to get rid of social conservatives seem to be from Democrats. I would not take that kind of talk seriously. We need to be able to unite to get anywhere next election.

Or instead of retreating into an echo chamber, you could just state your own case as to why you disagree. Might be more beneficial for everyone involved.

What amazes me are the supposedly brilliant people among conservative circles who think that if Republicans just agreed with Democrats on all the social issues, but kept preaching "fiscal conservatism" like the scolding schoolmarm, that somehow Republicans would win tons of elections.

On that battleground, Democrats would ALWAYS win, because not only will the right have conceded on the most important issues that inspires conservative base voters, but Democrats will always be able to promise more free shit for everyone and voters won't want to hear the scolding talk from anyone about overspending. They just want their free ObamaPhones and their free condoms.
