The theme was put together from scratch by me (the new CSS mod) and /u/cha0s helped out with RES-support, markdown, fined tuned night mode to perfection and did many other things. All other mods contributed with ideas and feedback.

About the design of the theme:

This place has grown a lot and become one of the main hubs of GG and many neutrals will get their first impression of us here. This is why I wanted to make the place look a bit more serious and highlight the focus on vidya, ethics and journalism. I choose to built it from scratch because it was fun and also gives us more control to make changes and fixes in the future.

The color scheme is naturally purple/green. The texture is a gaming inspired dark polygon/triangular design. Focus was placed on usability and reduced clutter, simplicity and consistency.

The new theme also supports night mode as this was a heavily requested feature, just click on the moon to enter it.

I also tried to make the theme more responsive to smaller screens. Unfortunately you can only go so far since reddit has a hard coded view port in the HTML.

The logo itself is just something I threw together quickly because I thought we needed one. If you feel that you can make a better logo (preferably one that brings back our beloved sea lion), make one and post it. We might just give you something fun in return, if we end up using it.

UPDATE: Nightmode is now RES-only. Unfortunately I had to choose between the subdomain hack and integrating with RES nightmode (due to reddit 100kb custom stylesheet limit), so I picked RES nightmode instead since this is what people that want nightmode generally use. The RES nightmode also has the advantage of working regardless of how links are followed etc. So, the button is gone, enable nightmode in the RES menu instead.
