Dear Mr. Murakami,
I hope you are able to read this although I understand there will be numerous other emails.I am studying to get into university and it is my true wish to continue with my studies but often I find myself disappointed with how society is today and find it very hard to concentrate as I am constantly daydreaming about it. I am scared I will not be able to pursue my dreams. I would like to know if you had a similar issue with motivation when you were 18, if it's not asking too much.
Furthermore I would like to thank you because your books incited me to read more and it helps me to visit other ideal worlds in my head when I feel low.
Thank you very much.

When I was 18 years old, I didn’t have any idea what I was going to do in the future. I was confused and kind of angry. Fortunately, in my case, music helped me through that chaos. I guess you should find something to hold on to.
Take care.
