Feels a bit like a slap in the face for you to say 'thanks to facelessace' in the message and to refer to him as 'gracious' in the comments. He was anything but gracious and those who were here for it are anything but thankful to him for uprooting our community and spitting all over us while trying to hide what he did.

You may not have paid for the sub, you may have even wrested it away from him against his will completely and are trying to be polite about it, but it comes off as disrespectful to those of us that had to go through that drama to act like he did us a favor somehow.

As a company, they sadly don't have the luxury of badmouthing people in a public forum, even though it's deserved. As much as I hate them saying anything polite, I can understand why they are choosing their words carefully.

They do not have to good-mouth him either. There is a point where you do not have to thank them or call them gracious anymore than you have to call them an asshole. Just say it happened with reddit admin oversight.

I agree that they don't need to. But I also understand their desire to be diplomatic about it -- perhaps they were even required to be as part of wresting control of the sub, I don't know.

Right now, I'm happy that FacelessAce is gone for good, and cautiously hopeful that things can and will return back to the old normal ... we shall see though.

i imagine that facelessace deleted (or otherwise removed from view) those comments due to angry users down-voting his past posts as reaction to his handling of /r/swagbucks.

I think the Swagbucks admins were as blindsided as everybody else and are now trying to do damage control. I completely agree that facelessace was not at all gracious and went about everything the complete wrong way (for reasons that are still not at all clear to me) but from a PR standpoint it makes sense that they (Swagbucks) have to be diplomatic in how they phrase things.

Diplomatic generally includes not telling the community that got uprooted that the guy who uprooted them was gracious and they're thankful to him.

There is a difference between diplomatic and what they are saying, which is only diplomatic to facelessace and not to the people that had to go through it.

And quite frankly, if they're going to be overly diplomatic to anyone, they should be thanking the people who stuck around despite the drama profusely instead.

So this would be for Reddit Actual? The alleged assertion being that a Swagbucks employee is also employed by Reddit in official capacity?

EDIT: i'd like to learn the truth of it. But hearsay is not adequate.

reddit actual? no idea what that means. only thing i said was that /u/swagbucksadmin is the employee im talking about. s/he has an 'official' flair also.
