A few months ago, while browsing /pol/, I came across a political cartoon. I can't find it for the life of me right now, but it went something like this: a chess game between the US and the USSR. The US won the game, but the USSR managed to get a piece, make a move if you will, on the US' brain, saying: "checkmate."

The picture has been stuck in the back of my head since then. What if it's not far from the truth?

The Soviet Union made its last thump in the 90s. And the first widespread case of political correctness came out of the 90s, targeting the disenfranchised and those looking for validation. Soon it grew into obscurity, left to grow and inject itself into modern feminism, a "positive" word in people's language.

We can't really deny that our enemies are largely Marxist. They're largely overeducated people with no grasp of the real world, but who want to pursue Marxism, and the only way to do so is through force. i.e. Communists. Because the only way Marxism actually works is by forcing people to participate in the system and pull their weight.

We are dealing with the same type of people we were dealing with fifty years ago. People who want to use force to enact their doomed socioeconomic political system. People who do not want criticism and will rain hell on dissenters. People who want to hijack education and feed the masses what THEY want people to think.

Are we dealing with the remnants of the Cold War? Are these people the final gift from the Soviet Union? Has it come upon our shoulders to stomp the tumor before it grows?

I'm beginning to think that this battle is far far far far more than just ethics in journalism or shitting up tumblurrets. The center to left media has been hijacked by ideologues pushing the same agenda, and it's not like the state can do much about it even if they knew something was off: the media is protected by the state's own guidelines. These people have hijacked most of modern higher education. They're producing our scientists, engineers, and most importantly, they're producing dead weight who will have nothing but contempt for the Capitalist system, or so they think, that failed them: no useful skills, a useless degree, and $100k of inescapable, ever-growing debt. They're not only pumping out new recruits, they're essentially sabotaging our competitiveness in the world stage, whether they know it or not.

Could be, could be, but until I see the declassified/leaked kgb files, I'll treat it as a theory.

Did the Russians do it? OK, use a bit of logic.

The Russians were perfectly happy to push "Cultural Marxism", and get sympathetic academics to push their agenda.

However, they wouldn't have put much effort in. Stealing US physics / cryptography / engineering was way more valuable. Undermining STEM schools was a much bigger priority.

If I were running a KGB subversion department, the cost / benefit ratio on subverting "gender studies" would be close to zero.

They did do a bit of a "long march" through education departments, but even then it was a bit pointless. Teachers don't give a fuck what teaching academics say, as teaching academics have never been particularly useful.

Russia didn't want global communism since Stalin took over, they just wanted to keep their own empire viable enough to give their leaders a high standard of living.

An SJW plague just makes useless people slightly more annoying. The Russians might have had some influence, but it wouldn't have been a priority.

Guys, guys. Stop guessing and let me tell you the news. During the Cold War, the USSR worked really hard to put tons of spies into US academia to spread leftist/socialist messages. The US did what they could to out them, questioned/jailed or harassed a bunchof professors. Now, some were actually spies, but plenty of them were just honest commie sympathizers with no actual ties to the USSR. The drama of the US spy hunting in academic halls to root out pinkos created a "Free speech = Left wing Marxist expression, Typical American values = Oppressive Enemy" attitude amongst the university that persists to the present day.

Claiming the USA is secretly the USSR is Faux News' job.

Human stupidity, insanity, and insanely stupid ideology have been around since time immemorial, but no, everything is actually because of Stalin and/or Hitler and happened less than 100 years ago.

You're half right, it's the same people but it's not Russia in control. Their lives devoid of meaning after their old God died, they made a new God to replace them. Another way to say it is that when the snake's head was cut off it didn't wither, it learned to talk out of its arse instead.

Personally I feel the push for marxism is more about groups establishing state endorsed industries, owned, and controlled by them.

It essentially gives them a monopoly on whatever they are pushing. They can turn out substandard product, with no consumer to answer to. If any other group tries to compete with them, they can use legislation to shut them down, rather than having to compete fairly. They can expect tax payer funded subsidies, bail outs, and the ear of those in power.

How many SJWs are trying to talk about a revolution and about overthowing the government, instead of just whining about their lives while directing you to their patreon or kickstarter? How many are running for offices or forming their own political parties, instead of just writing articles that tell people to buy their friends games?

It's all about media bias, and cronyism.

The media has been corrupt, since before most of us were born.

Gamergate has has made people realize that there is a equivalent to the crazy right wing, a westboro baptist church of sorts.

This is how authoritarians gain power. They look good in the media because they 'care' about minorities . When in reality they are using them as a 'shield' to protect themselves from criticism.
