OUR MISSION

We believe that the current standard of ethics in the gaming industry is unhealthy to itself, and to gamers. We have taken notice to various conflicts of interest, and wish to address these in hopes that the gaming industry can change, in order to retain the trust of its concerned consumers.
We believe gaming is an inclusive place, and wish to welcome all who want to take part in an amazing hobby. We welcome artistic freedom and equal opportunities for creators and creations. We condemn censorship, exclusion, harassment, and abuse.
This is a community for discussion of these issues, and for organizing campaigns for reform, so that the industry can be held accountable for its actions and gamers can enjoy their medium without being unjustly attacked or slandered.

I read a book titled "Culture Jamming". It seemed to be an exercise in using radical liberal idealism to justify outright anti-social behavior. Most of the described instances of culture jamming involved spreading a "message" by ruining the daily routines of non-participants. The fact that people are inconvenienced is openly celebrated, as they're prevented from continuing their daily lives in an "unthinking" manner.
In it, the author's first described act of culture jamming was literally jamming the coin slot of a newspaper vending machine. There was also the act of "street reclamations", or any act of forcibly repurposing public infrastructure. The main idea behind culture jamming is that average citizens are gullible, unthinking, and very easily swayed by corporate or government messaging. So I assume this is where Josh McIntosh got the ingrained belief that video games and movies are not "harmless products", that they can poison the public consciousness when they contain toxic messages.
At the time, I thought if I ever wrote some work of fiction requiring a liberal villain, then "Culture Jamming" would probably be the best source of inspirational caricatures

Macintosh is toothless and a traitor to everything culture jamming stands for. If I even thought of showing you guys what culture jamming is there'd be thousands of babies on both sides calling me a terrorist while each sucking on their respective medias teat.
The unquestioned acceptance of corporations popular culture on both sides of GamerGate make both of you sheep. The difference is the other side is posers.
It's a meme war your fighting and the best possible outcome is everything gets destroyed.[a much longer post was deleted here]

I can be, I just don't like to half ass things. I mean half the reason I moved back to Detroit was me asking myself "who the fuck do I think I am? If I'm brilliant enough to demand wealth redistribution and people to work for less than they get why shouldn't I tighten my belt & help out 1st? If I know so much about running the world surely I can help fix a 1st world city I was born in and know like the back of my hand"
Hell the reason I'm in marketing is because I said "if capitalism is so fucking "easy" to manipulate why haven't one of us done it and helped people out yet?"
The reason I made games was because I said "if it's so easy to make & demand changes why don't we make our own" entirely unaware of these people.
so if we're going to go hard on the "fuck capitalism & the media" tip you can't dick ride it to fame & fortune use it to shield yourself from criticism and still claim to be what you think you are. Practice what you preach or don't preach it at all.
So if we even really talk about culture jamming, it triggers that part of my personality let's go full Tyler Durden in this bitch, label ISIS murder videos as Call of Duty trailers & print labels to put on the preorder boxes at stores of beheaded soldiers, slip notes from workers making conflict materials into boxes, make a game about Sonic the Hedgehog where he can't even move because he's so obese and diabetic from sugary drinks and chilli dogs he has to get his legs cut off, put some actual shock, shame, fear, and anger in people to provoke change on a massive scale rather than being some poser circlejerking with my friends preaching to the choir and people that will pay me to leave them alone, or go home, kiss your wife, sit your ass down and watch some stupid asinine hollywood bullshit and collect checks from making stupid videos on youtube like I'm about to do.
