Well, that sub exists to make fun of smug atheists. They're not making fun of him for insulting homophobes, they're making fun of him for being a greasy-haired dorky-looking dude making a dumb face and flipping off the back of a car like it's some kind of statement.

Most people on magicskyfairy are liberals who resent atheists (especially /r/atheism atheists) talking about religious people like they are all social conservatives.

Just to give a little personal background - I used to post on magicskyfairy when /r/atheism was at its peak. I grew up with one parent in the Canadian United Church (totally pro-LGBTQ, perform same-sex marriages, etc) and one parent who grew up Ismaili (possibly the most liberal Muslim sect in the West). I disliked reddit atheists because their anti-theist arguments seemed to rest on assumptions that were just patently untrue based on my lived experience.

They're not reacting to that poster for defending homosexuals. They're making fun of them for assuming they were homophobes.
