Fictional characters can be written poorly or have undesirable traits (though typically intentional by the author) to make you dislike the character.

Think of pro-wrestling as a great example of this. The heels (bad guys) are just people acting a character and get booed as well as other emotional responses by the crowd. Disliking fictional characters is actually perfectly normal.
