You should plan to go into comp with at least 2000 hours or so. 1200 is nothing, and you'll go against people with 8000 hours sometimes if you don't wait.

This is horrible advice. Hours don't mean shit unless you put them to good use. Iirc Ryb (prem demo) got in prem with under 1k hours. He hasn't even passed 2k yet.

If you have a low amount of hours, you typically don't want to be doing high levels of competitive. I have over 6k hours currently and play plat highlander, but I still trained extremely hard in my first 1000 hours and wasn't prem level good.

I started comp with 400 hours, it really doesnt matter when you start as long as you know how to play decently and are willing to learn from your mistakes

Also we arent talking plat here, we are talking lobbies

This. There's iron for a reason. My team actually got fairly far (default wins are still wins wooo) but just playing that format is the best practice for getting good at it!

I wasn't trying to make anybody feel bad or make a point, I was trying to help- in my very first season, I had like 700 hours or so and our team did absolute shit. I started at 700 because I got overconfident and ended up getting destroyed. I was trying to help by saying that if you are starting comp with not so many hours, you really should try to wait a bit more or else you could end up the same way I did.

Yea, I get it. What really helped my team is that we're 4 friends IRL, so we would be really casual and mess around a lot. I can see how being low hours and jumping into a team with random people can be a bit more stressful.

That's what happened with us, but same thing happened ;c

Also, thank you for being one of the only people who actually understands what I am saying- I really am not trying to make a statement or anything like that, I'm only trying to help before a tragedy like what happened with us happens to more people ;-;

You being bad isn't evidence to support your suggestion

If you want to learn from your mistakes at 400 hours, you should get mentoring or you should start lobbying. I first lobbied at like 300 hours and was getting mentored in rocket jumping, flanking, bombing, etc., and I mained soldier at the time, and picked it up quite quickly! But when you get in a real competitive match at only that level of experience expecting more than you're clearly going to get, you're going to be devastated, as I was once ;-;

I did my first comp a couple nights ago and did good, and I only have 330 hours in the game. I don't think that hours are a very good determinant of how well you do in comp/how good of a player you are.

I never said it meant you're bad, I was giving a suggestion so that people wouldn't get devastated for when you might get crushed against good players.

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks for explaining your side.

My friend started with 250 hours and he's been doing pretty well for 3 seasons now

PLEASE people downvote me more, I'm totally not giving my own personal opinion or trying to help people, and am really not contributing to the discussion.

There's this thing called the "edit button" on your comments.

Am I not allowed to do what I want? Jesus.

That was a suggestion, and I suggest you listen to it.

Actually, you were making a rude, sarcastic remark about how I made a comment the way I wanted to do it. Deal with it, move on. Let's end this thread :)

If heard the word rude a lot, and that comment could only be rude to a certain people that I don't like.

100% agreed. You need to at least know how to face those top-tier players, how to react, and not take it as a pub. Each player has a very specific role to assume, watching POVs, practicing, practicing even more also helps. Don't see why you got downvoted.
