Not a libertarian issue.

Obviously libertarians are upset that people are reporting rape.

Why do libertarians get upset when people report rape?

Why do you make up ridiculous statements to fit your worldview?

Question assumes facts not in evidence.

Oh. So much like both questions asked by you? Don't hurt yourself with that axe you are trying to grind little man.

Ah so bitter and he can't read up the comment thread. Good to know.

You said "both questions," but I only asked on question here. So I thought maybe you were talking about questions I asked in another thread.

You said "both questions," but I only asked one question here. So I figured you were talking about another thread.

Did you read the article? Have you been following this story?

Did you read the article

Did YOU read it? The article says that:

false rape accusations are more prevalent than false accusations of other criminal activity.

It also says that

A false rape accusation is also more useful in certain situations than other false accusations, such as revenge against exes, getting rid of a current romantic partner, or covering up an extramarital affair. Finally, there are radical feminists who view such accusations as a legitimate way to attack men collectively.

So clearly the authors have a problem with rape accusations specifically.

Wait, are you condoning false rape claims?

I don't know that they're false.

The claims reported in Rolling Stone were completely false. The story could not be corroborated. The 'attacker' was a piecemeal version of a real person who attended school with the 'victim.' Rolling Stone has since retracted the article, though they show little remorse.

Before you go on to make any more ridiculous, and obviously uninformed comments, perhaps you should get up to speed on the facts. Either way you've shown the same sensationalist attitude that this threat is condemning. Rape happens. Just like murder and theft and any number of crimes. It is not a pretty thing and it is unfortunate and despicable.

But the attitude around rape in this nation has gotten out of control. It is very much guilty until proven innocent. This particular situation is inductive of the 'shoot first ask questions later' approach. All criminal matters should be approached with caution, prudence, and without predetermined notions as to guilt. Now that the facts have come to light and the parties named have been properly vetted the only guilt left is on Erdely. She blatantly lied and implicated an innocent man in an attempt to bolster her radical, Left-wing agenda. That is what we're all up in arms about.

Your basing this claim on one article in one magazine?

The FBI estimates false rape allegations are about 8% of reported claims.

That was almost three decades ago! This is your evidence that this "has gotten out of control?"
