Firefox と Thunderbird では、ユーザデータはプロファイルフォルダに格納されています。

Firefox のプロファイルフォルダの場所

各 OS でのデフォルトのプロファイルフォルダの場所は以下のようになっています。

Windows Vista	C:\Users\<ユーザ名>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>
Windows 2000、XP	C:\Documents and Settings\<ユーザ名>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>
Windows NT	C:\WINNT\Profiles\<ユーザ名>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>
Windows 98、ME	C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile folder>
Mac OS X	~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/<profile folder>
Linux、Unix	~/.mozilla/firefox/<profile folder>

"<profile folder>" の部分は "8文字のランダム名.プロファイル名"となります。

Windows 2000/XP では "Application Data" フォルダには隠し属性がついています。エクスプローラの「フォルダオプション」→「表示」→「詳細設定」の「すべてのファイルとフォルダを表示する」をチェックすることによりエクスプローラ上で表示できるようになります。また、Windows のスタートメニューの「ファイル名を指定して実行」で %APPDATA% を入力して実行することによりエクスプローラで "Application Data" フォルダを開くことができます。

Thunderbird のプロファイルフォルダの場所

Thunderbird の場合は以下のようになっています。

Windows 2000/XP	C:\Documents and Settings\<ユーザ名>\Application Data\Thunderbird
Windows NT	C:\WINNT\Profiles\<ユーザ名>\Application Data\Thunderbird
Windows 98/ME	C:\Windows\Application Data\Thunderbird

profile.ini

Firefox と Thunderbird のプロファイルフォルダの中には profile.ini というファイルがあり、このファイルでプロファイルを管理しています。このファイルはテキストファイルなので、このファイルを編集することによりプロファイル名やフォルダの位置を変更することができます。
