  1. If this dude was "just going to the store", why was he filming? Something seems fucky.

  2. Why the hell would you walk away from a cop? That's pretty dumb.

  3. This is x-posted from a sub filled with jackass libertarians and Sovereign citizen wannabes.

This is a pretty terrible and contextless video.

why was he filming?

He is just exercising his rights. In this state, we tend to lose our rights pretty frequently.

Contextless? A guy is walking down the sidewalk and is mugged by a police officer.

I always record the police when I see them in a public place. Do you have a problem with that? It's a first amendment right, and it helps to expose criminal behavior on behalf of the cops. Maybe you didn't hear about it, but recently a civilian who decided to record the police caught an officer shooting an unarmed man in the back 5 times in South Carolina. If that video didn't exist, that officer would be getting away with murder.

Like, every time? Regardless of where you were going?

Yup. If I have spare time I'll hang around for a while. If I don't I'll stay as long as I can, to make sure the cop sees the camera.

The way I look at it is, even if this cop isn't doing something illegal at the moment, maybe the next time he's about to do something illegal he will hesitate and think "Gee, there might be a camera on me, I better not do what I was about to do."

EDIT 2: yup, I'm going to report you all to the admins. Obvious brigading? Threats? This will go over great, I'm sure.

It's a right of yours, but you're only making their jobs more difficult. If someone were to go about playing the 'I'm recording you' game, I'd make sure to go out of my way to be a dick to them. Why? Because you're acting like a child in kindergarten pointing fingers. They don't need the hassle, especially in the job environment they work in. Sick of all this hippy shit. Work a day in their shoes before you go off telling them how to do their jobs. It's like that video of the cop that got shot in the face. Immediately people were giving the cops grief because they shot back at the waste of oxygen that shot the cop. Completely overlooking the simple fact that THE COP GOT SHOT IN THE FACE.

If somebody is so rattled by another person quietly standing thirty feet away holding a camera that they can't do their job, they have no business being a cop.
