In-Geom Discussion (Mechanics, Usage, Fluff)

Been playing around quite a bit with the new In-Geom sword with the Raiment Set and had a few questions/observations to ask/share.

Short Videos with 8-sec In-Geom:

8s vs 10s IG
I've only got an 8-second version available to me, does anyone with both 8 & 10 second notice a difference in DS output? Does your DS clock spin any faster with 10s? I seem to be only double dashing with the IG proc up. I use '1' as my DS key for Raiment for reference.

IG vs CDR
As far as known mechanics, the 8-10 seconds is applied first, then CDR. So Epiphany would drop from 60 sec CD to 50, and then reduced by CDR. So with typical ~50% CDR you'd have over 100% uptime on FitL/IwL.

No IG Buff Icon
Since the buff icon does not show up, the best way I have found to track if it's up is to use a Rank 30 Bane of the Powerful. R30 = 60 second BotP Buff which equates to IG running out at 3'oclock

Using / Gearing with In-Geom
I'm still debating how much CDR to use in an In-Geom build. For T6 the damage is way more than needed, so a few extra crit affixes really may not be worth the QoL of having some extra CDR when useful. I've been using Jawbreaker to help transition between packs, but usually end up double-dashing and strolling for a (relatively excruciating) 4 seconds before a charge comes back. Right now, I've just been picking up +%DS over CDR. For T6 and Speed GRs, the need to refresh IG just forces you to leave your group behind and skip trash/picking up items/chests/progressglobes. I've found it best to pair up with an EP Monk while the other DPS complains about stragglers. :) So IG builds are awesome for GR30-40, but above that I found my buff uptime drag enough to make standard FDs better, or I usually just swap back to my EP Monk if there isn't one already.

Random: Those new wizards are stronk! Was doing sub-2min GR37s & sub-4min GR47s with their new zappy dps in place of the typical DHx2 in the party.

Transmog
Girth Matters, but I like the sleek look. Usually use a Jawbreaker with it which is transmogged into a Demon's Hand. Forcing myself to use that new S3 Pennant and SC2 Blade Wings.

I have a 10-sec-in-geom but I don't think I am able to double dash more than you do in your video.
The dashing strike icon still needs to 'refresh' and there seems to be a (very) small internal cooldown.

Btw. very nice music in your video! ;)

I second what Syrian said, I have a 10s in-geom as well but there's always this in between cd..

I can only conclude that dashing in-geom is very dependant on ping. I'm playing NA with about 150ping that might be the reason.

I don't think it has anything to do with latency -- It's not like a channeling shrine where it will hop constantly.. it is even smoother when you do have spirit to burn.. I'll cycle through spirit dumps ( MA + Blind ) during the 15 sec reduc.

The only other thing I'd say is at least prior to BoW set ( I only have Focus ) using a Cindercoat + Saffron seems to be the best option for T6. I found a Jawbreaker but as I have an ancient offhand better in damage and the chances of hitting something 32 yards away or further is pretty low I just rock the heavier damage weap.

Whats this Wiz build? <4m 47 solo?

Oh another hint: When fighting a champion pack it will activate on the last mob being killed not necessarily the champ.

Wow, how much gold bonus you got? :P out of the topic, but I was just wondering :) Nice video btw. And if you don't mind, I will try your build.

Oh and lemme ask, is near death the best in the hf ammy?

Edit: I see now, you're using the hoarder gem.

I guess I should try and count the number of frames each refresh takes. I hate frame counting. I picked that track since it was the pretty close to the length of the clip ^_^

My guess is because Channeling removes the -1 charge of DS, which means we don't have to 'wait' for Raiment to refund it.

Yea, I am unconvinced of the usefulness of JB in reducing downtime, but it does give me a mini-game to play when IG is down and I can try and practice the old ping-pong.

Whats this Wiz build?

Ahh, I meant Wiz replacing DH dps in 4player speed GRs.

I think so. NDE is now a great for looting stuff in explosions since you know you will have the 2 second immunity window now. Fatty explosions are the best part of speed GRs!

Seriously Davlok,,

Try it for T6 with just a lil bit more toughness.. it seems to be more effective for maps with any sort of density.
