Not all Republicans are racist but all racists are Republican.

The KKK has been a Democrat organization since its founding. The Black Panthers (old and new) are Democrat organizations. La Raza is a Democrat organization.

You want to retract your accusation, or are you going to be stuck on stupid?

Last time I checked, Al Sharpton was pretty firmly blue.

Robert Byrd (D) West Virginia - As the longest-serving Democratic senator, Byrd served as President pro tempore four times when his party was in the majority:[8] from 1989 until the Republicans won control of the Senate in 1995; for 17 days in early 2001, when the Senate was evenly split between parties and outgoing Vice President Al Gore broke the tie in favor of the Democrats; when the Democrats regained the majority in June 2001 after Senator Jim Jeffords of Vermont left the Republican Party to become an independent; and again from 2007 to his death in 2010, as a result of the 2006 Senate elections. In this capacity, Byrd was third in the line of presidential succession at the time of his death, behind Vice President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In the early 1940s, Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to create a new chapter of the Ku Klux Klan **-I shall never fight in the armed forces with a negro by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds. —Robert C. Byrd, in a letter to Sen. Theodore Bilbo (D-MS), 1946**

In all fairness, the ideology of the two parties was reversed when byrd was elected

So when Byrd was President Pro Tem in the senate while the vile evil George Bush was POTUS none of Byrds previous racist actions were of any consequence? Got it. /s

Section 4. Ku Klux Klan of article Robert Byrd:

In the early 1940s, Byrd recruited 150 of his friends and associates to create a new chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in Sophia, West Virginia.

According to Byrd, a Klan official told him, "You have a talent for leadership, Bob ... The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation." Byrd later recalled, "Suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities! I was only 23 or 24 years old, and the thought of a political career had never really hit me. But strike me that night, it did." Byrd became a recruiter and leader of his chapter. When it came time to elect the top officer (Exalted Cyclops) in the local Klan unit, Byrd won unanimously.

In 1946, Byrd wrote to segregationist Mississippi Senator Theodore G. Bilbo:

Racism is in itself conservative and not progressive. This is why most racists are Republicans.

What? Humans are inconsistent?! Stop the presses!

why does it seem like you are defending this? You don't think it's important to pint out the hypocrisy of the left as much as the right?

How does that sound like a defense? Racism is shitty. Doesn't mean it's endemic in progressivism, just because sometimes progressives do it too.

Only one political party thinks it "owns" the votes of minorities while claiming other people are racist.

Out of all the stupid shit I've read in this shithole this is the stupidest thing

Most racists, yes? All racists? No. For example, I watched a documentary on racism in America and there was a video taken from a McCain rally of a man holding a sign which said "Democrats for McCain." When asked we he was voting for McCain as opposed to Obama, he replied "I would never vote for a black man."

Most racists? Actually no. More racists? By a thin margin. Actual surveys and polls place them fairly close to each other. In fact, up until late 2007, according to the polls, Republicans were more open to the idea of electing a black president.

This one right here is pretty much not really racist, but shows where the differences in parties originate: https://espnfivethirtyeight.files.wordpress.com/2014/04/silver-racial-index-6.png?w=1024

When it comes to actual racist remarks that depict another race as being inferior, you can see here it's pretty close. The gap is a bit wider in cases that refer to things like interracial relationships, However, do note this is an index of white Republicans and white Democrats.

I think what you have with either of these parties (and I don't support either) are people who would vote for anyone, and accept the votes of anyone, who support their worldview....which rests on the same essential foundation...and every other issue follows it: a few people amass fortunes while the rest get fucked to one degree or another. The only difference is that the Dems will occasionally toss the poor a doggie bone in an attempt to keep them quiet.

Ok, fairly close but still Republicans mostly come out more racist than Democrats. Therefore, Republicans occupy the majority of racists.

True, I'm not entirely sure why, but all this time I've assumed "most" had a descriptor that essentially meant, "practically all", but I guess I'm wrong and you would be correct, it does just need to be the largest group.

Yeah I can see why you could see it that way. It's not so clear that "most" can still mean like 50.00001%.

I watched that exact same video today! It's called White Like Me by Tim Wise
