Most people know about the stages of grief, but don't really take them seriously. They're very, very important.

If people don't get over the denial phase of grieving, they may never actually find peace. Seeing the body, seeing the casket close, seeing it go into the ground, seeing dirt thrown on it . . . these are very important for many people to be able to move through the grieving process.

What really makes my blood boil is when selfish third parties take someone who is going through the grieving process and artificially keep them in an early stage of grief. Particularly anger. When high-profile tragedy happens, there is no shortage of people who want to parlay the anger of the victims for their own purposes.

"Your husband died in a fire? Take that anger and use it to petition lawmakers to buy my company's over-priced fire-retardant spray that never would have even saved your husband's life in the first place." "Your child was shot to death? Use that sadness and anger to demand Congress pass laws banning semi-automatic rifles which have nothing to do with your child's death. Just stay angry. Don't ever let that anger go."

It's fucked up. Interfering with recovery from tragedy is so unfathomably disgusting.

Are you an actual mental health professional or are you just spouting opinions off? Is there a scientific basis for what you are saying or do you just get mad when someone whose child just got gunned down by a dude with an AR-15 saying "hey, maybe it's a bit too easy to get those." Because I don't know many serious mental health professionals that would also be mods of "niggerturtles" and "Jihadwatch"

I've always been fascinated by those who look through a user's profile when they see a post that gets under their skin.

Are those subreddits used to spread hate? Did you know that the NAACP owns "nigger.com"? Do you know why?

Thanks for your ideas, though.

They own it to stop other people from using it.

Didn't answer my question. Are you a mental health professional?

Or do you have an ideological agenda that predisposes you to undermine any attempt at gun regulation?

Because really I don't see a lot of mental health professionals with the same understanding of race as a Klansman

I checked because you spoke with an awful lot of authority on a subject that I HIGHLY suspect you don't actually know shit about. Because I suspected it was really more about projecting your opinions than sympathy towards your fellow humans or an understanding of the human psyche.

LOL.

Yes. I am a mental health professional. However, your knowledge of how most mental health professionals are is amazing ;)

BTW, your job sounds fun.

Here's one for you: why did the chicken cross the road? Because gender, race, and class.

So you went through all those years of school and all the training to understand the human psyche, and you're still a skeevy butthurt racist? Being conservative is one thing. But saying that black fathers only care about malt liquor is another level entirely.

So somehow, I doubt that. A lot.

You sure can judge a person based on very little. Mark Twain named a character in one of his books "Nigger" . . . that must make Twain a racist, right?

There are those who live in a colorful world of complex irony. In such a world, calling someone who is pro-choice and anti-war "conservative" is quite humorous.

Despite all that, I think "skeevy butthurt racist" is a delightful phrase. What wonderfully brilliant use of language.

Life is fun.

I absolutely judge a person for saying extraordinarily racist things. You don't get to go around being the most vile racist you can possibly be, which you have made quite an effort to do, and say "you don't get to judge me on that." I can. I will. I do. And I should. If you think that an author in the 1800s writing a book set in the 1800s is intellectually indistinguishable from some neckbeard ranting about "black fathers" on Reddit in 2015, then I have to question whether or not you've ever actually read a book in your life.

You can be pro choice and anti-war and still be conservative. Conservatives for extremely isolationist in the early 20th Century. Charles Lindbergh is a perfect example. Rand and Ron Paul and their little movement now.

Please don't get me wrong. You're free to judge me all you want. I'm just laughing at you for your judgement.

Being overly-sensitive at /r/WTF comments? In my medical opinion, you need to relax :)
