Feminist here. I saw this and went into a little bit of a rage and had to comment. I do consider male circumcision and female circumcision two very separate issues. But both are still serious issues to me. Male circumcision is not only medically unnecessary but it can come with a lot of risks. Risks that aren't worth simply a "prettier penis." One of those risks is losing some sensation - which would make sex less enjoyable. A very cruel thing to do to a baby. The reason the tinder deal is so bad is because it encourages this terrible and pointless procedure. When really we should learn to be excited over what it should naturally be.

We encourage woman to be happy with their bodies instead of going under the knife. This is no different! I have been with many men who weren't cut and never saw it as a turn off - it is how it should be!

Oh, and the "haven't met a man" deal. That is the worst. Made me think of the Colbert "I ate today so world hunger is solved" joke. I had some friends who had a baby boy. She wanted him circumcised, he begged her not to. He lost. I guess some bacteria got into the cut while it was healing and became seriously infected, I didn't get all the details since they were dealing with enough. Kid ended up needing two more minor operations. And he will have significantly less feeling in his penis for the rest of his life. All because of a surgery that didn't need to happen. I told my boyfriend under no circumstances will my son be circumcised. He responded with this is how he knows I would be the perfect mom.
