Yeah transparency within the media is so stupid!!! #Russia4Lyfe

[–]Baltimore Oriolesotterz 11

This kind of comment is why people hate reddit

[–]Toronto Blue JaysJavelinAMX 6

I already hated Reddit a long time ago.

I sometimes forget that we're all redditors. Like, the r/baseball community feels way different to me.

I think both comments are misguided. It's ridiculous to think that ESPN deleting a video is KGB-style censorship, and it's ridiculous to think that this is somehow less important than other baseball news.

Holy shit I can't tell if you are serious or not. Did you just compare an entertainment network to mass media censorship. You just went full circlejerk man

Such a hard hitting story uncovered, hopefully justice can finally be served

Haha isn't the argument people use against gay marriage? First gay people, what's next, a guy marrying a horse?!? Its a slippery slope!

It can be applied to many different things, just like this situation that you don't think is a big deal. Transparency in the media is a HUGE deal.

[–]Chicago White SoxThaBomb 0

At the end of the day you're comparing removing a fantasy baseball video to a government blacking out real news stories for propaganda. All media is not equal. Please don't compare the two situations

[–]Texas RangersMurphyBinkings 0

So you do not understand slippery slope then?

[–]Chicago White SoxThaBomb 0

I completely understand what slippery slope is, do you realize that's it's considered a logical fallacy and that to most people that phrase has a negative connotation?

Thinking is hard for some people man, and you're one of those people. It's OK, everything is going to be OK.

I'll translate this to "I don't have anything to say to refute your point, so instead I will personally insult you"

Except for the fact that this story provided proof of a pattern of deception. It's one thing that ESPN already reports fluff and cherry picks stats, it's another if they have a pattern of deleting/altering predictive content from their 'expert' analysts only when it's wrong.

It's fucking FANTASY BASEBALL

Who cares? This isn't like before where they were caught altering NBA draft lists after the fact, even in that case, it didn't matter in the long run.

[–]Toronto Blue Jaysshun-16 -1

It does matter in the long run because then people can claim to be way better at what they do. The NBA draft in particular, Ford can start to claim he is the best at this and can make way more money if he's seen as some guru who can predict exactly where guys are going. They are building a brand off of lies and deception.

Same goes for ESPN wanting to give out fantasy advice, they can make all these claims that their guys always get it right if they delete every instance of them getting it wrong. Nobody is acting like this is a human rights violation but it's incredibly shitty of them to do.
