[–]PeppermintBattleshipInternalize misogyny at least one hour prior to eating. 134 ポイント135 ポイント  (85子コメント)

Why do SJWs complain about this sub all the time, but not ones that are actually racist (like coontown) or sexist (like theredpill)? They would have so much more to take legitimate issue with.

[–]RaisinZetaJonesThe Unbearable Whiteness of Being 58 ポイント59 ポイント  (1子コメント)

Because TiA is damaging to their world view, TRP and Coontown are confirming it. Hence the strawmanning.

[–]PhantomofaWriterTruscum Trans Man Shitlord 11 ポイント12 ポイント  (0子コメント)

And because it's easier for them to attack and try to convert people who use reason than to attack people who are set extremely in their views on the opposite side.

Probably because they agree with coontown and theredpill. Or, like, confirmation bias. But thats less exciting.

[–]NaraLeao 68 ポイント69 ポイント  (7子コメント)

Or maybe because those are easy targets. They aren't afraid of them because they are nuts. TiA is scary because it's a place where minorities are accepted and defended, so they can't just go "Racists! Sexists! Transphobes! Homophobes!" like they mostly do.

It's one thing when a straight cis gut makes fun of "trans" tucutes. They can call him a bigot or whatever and his response doesn't hold as much weight. When it's a black trans woman making fun of the tucute, there's really no good response.

Yeah, like, what the fuck are they gonna do to coontown or theredpill? "You're racist/sexist!" "Yes, And?" "u-uhhhhh...."

Yeah I looked a coontown a while ago, and they claimed to hate black people because some black people had been mean to them. Fucking ridiculous

A couple years ago I was waiting for a bus after a late shift and a group of black teenagers meandered over to me and asked me to buy rolling papers for them. Apparently the gas station attendant wasn't going to let a group of 9 or 10 people into the store who weren't buying gas. I was quite adamant about not buying the papers because my bus was going to arrive any minute but as they started to realize I wasn't going they became quite angry and started to cuss me out. The area was known for beat downs and stabbings so I opted for the smarter decision to just get them the papers. When I exited the gas station with the papers it was just in time to see my bus pass by (fucking perfect) and one lad from the group was waiting for me while the rest waited on the other side of the road. He was pretty aggressive about getting the papers from me, basically demanding them and when I asked who was gonna pay me back he just shrugged and ran back to the group. I could have bothered them for it but I wasn't about to get my ass kicked over $2. To this day I still hate black teenagers

Because barely any, if any at all, people like being pointed out that their carefully thought-out version of reality, in which they are the innocent victim and the whole world pushes them to be an internet hero after they stand up for what's right according to them, might not be the most accurate depiction of what our universe is.

Maybe I'm sexist, but theredpill seemed somewhat tame in comparison to "killallmen" types.

Edit: Other than dating advice which will probably drive more women away than expected, it's not that bad.

Everyone thinks ROK is shit at this point. Its become the Redpill equivalent of Salon. Full of clickbait and incendiary articles to get views. I'd say they are a lot more extreme then the average redpill guy but you'd likely not believe me.

Nobody takes Revenge Of Cuckolds seriously.

Well nobody other than the: "I just found out about TRP 2 months ago after my ex dumped me. GRRR! Aren't bitches the worst? I've been on Stronglifts 5x5 for a week now and I'm sooo Alpha! Just yesterday this hamster asked me for directions to the museum and I was all: "Bitch, you just want a beta orbiter" (FYI, I used to be a beta orbiter BUT NOT ANY MOOORE! ALPHA!)" crowd.

Picture the guys in AA who "find Jesus", are insufferable about it for 2 weeks, then end up in a bar again somewhere. Now apply that immaturity to gender dynamics and there you go :P

Edit: Just realised I'm preaching to the choir.

[–]aalambVoted literally worse than Hitler, 3 years running 12 ポイント13 ポイント  (4子コメント)

In terms of crazy, I'd agree. In terms of damage done, I think TRP is actually more damaging, precisely because it's less crazy. The kill all men shit is going to be immediately written off by everybody that's not completely batshit insane. TRP appeals to a lot of men that are probably decent at heart, but bitter and isolated. And once they embrace the ideology, I think it leads them to become more bitter and incapable of developing healthy, lasting relationships with women.

One is ravings in the asylum, the other is relatively normal people being led astray.

[–]SharkPrivilegeThe Sharkeesian Effect 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (3子コメント)

I think it leads them to become more bitter and incapable of developing healthy, lasting relationships with women.

Or it leads to many of them to take full control over their life, develop a sense of responsibility, find what's what they want from life and take the steps to go and take or achieve it.

I'm not a big fan of the TRP community, but the basic principles have been amazingly useful for many men and women, including me. No excuses, no defensive mechanisms, no wishful thinking, no stories, just you and the world.

[–]cryptographtucutes: trans equivalent of extremely anti-black racist wiggers 2 ポイント3 ポイント  (2子コメント)

Just because it's half right doesn't mean you should follow their advice. There are healthier movements out there that tell you to take care of yourself, without becoming a misogynist at the same time.

[–]SharkPrivilegeThe Sharkeesian Effect -1 ポイント0 ポイント  (1子コメント)

It's not about advice, it's about philosophy. Since we're little children, we get told lots of things that are not exactly accurate. I'd have called them lies in the past, but they are more wishful thinking. "Good things happen to good people" and all sorts of things. They are not bad on their own, but if you get too entangled into this kind of mentality, you start to become disconnected from the harsh reality and that makes some things much more difficult. In example, death, probably the biggest fear humans have. It's something we can't avoid, yet we try to do our best to defend ourselves from the fear of it. Then someone dies and it hits us very, very hard. We're totally unprepared for death and our own mortality.

What about the "find a good job, get married, have children, pay taxes". What if that's not what a person wants? So I believe in unplugging, in swallowing the red pill like Neo did in The Matrix and going your own way, living your own way, finding what makes you happy, not your parents, your friends, your teachers, etc. Not many movements support this. It goes against many things that we've learned since we're children. Of course society needs certain things to work, but what's good for society is not always good for the individual. It's important to find compromise, but it seems that compromise is not for men nowadays. Now, about women...

I want to address the misogyny aspect, as it may be a good chance now. Without a shade of a doubt, there are many men in the TRP community who are very bitter towards women, some outright hate them. I don't deny this. I went through my own phase of bitterness (short and not too intense), but after I had gone through it, I really understood it. I've been told all my life that women are wonderful, they are such perfect creatures that can do no wrong. So, like when someone dies and you're not prepared to accept death, you get hit very hard when you realize how blind you were.

Many young men in the TRP community are going or went through this. Growing up to be ashamed of their own masculinity, told that women held all the cards, that they were never wrong as they were oh-so-angelic. So when they realize that this is not true, that they have been lied about women and by women (and men), and that many other things they have been taught are not exactly true and go against their personal interest, they get angry, very angry.

So yes, it's true, there's a lot of anger and bitterness in the TRP and people, instead of sitting down and wondering why the Manosphere and all the similar things are growing so fast (they didn't really exist before in this shape), they decide to build strawmen arguments and take the moral high ground to say that the TRP is actually more damaging than saying "kill all men".

Now, tell me, why do you think men end up there? Is the tactic of shaming and attacking them really working?

[–]Calairiel 0 ポイント1 ポイント  (0子コメント)

Actually when I got into my first serious relationship my dad sat me down and told me that if I have sons I need to impress on them the knowledge that women can be scumbags. Not that all women are scumbags, but that they can be and it's hard for boys to see through the illusions scummy women put up. I do know that these women though make themselves into a boy's daydream and then become their nightmare once they have them committed. Cause some girls don't believe anything they ever do is bad if it gets them what they want. And damn they can be sneaky. But the warning signs of a girl like that only seem to be obvious to other women. I don't know how to explain to a man that she's a predator.
