I own a pair of $150 jeans. I bought them when I was young(er) and dumb(er) and sucker who didn't know properly spend money or manage capital.

These days excess makes me uneasy. I feel uncomfortable with anything I have because all those people who have not are constantly in my mind. Clothing should be functional and modest, nothing more. The only way I'm paying more than $20 or $25 for a pair of pants these days is if I know where they came from. I will gladly pay a premium for a product produced in a environmentally sound manner, made by workers who are either fairly compensated or belong to a worker owned enterprise. Otherwise, I'm not going to pay some 800% mark up for a slave labor product that's literally the exact same thing as the 800% cheaper version with a different brand name tag.

I couldn't even imagine how much a douche bag someone has to be to be proudly walking around in some $15,000 suit passing homeless people on the street.

I'm in ZERO debt. And yes,I do buy expensive clothes, but only when the price justifies the quality. I also don't judge people based on the price of their clothes, because for all you know, that person could be one of the most generous people you know. If someone works hard for their money, then why shouldn't they be able to buy things that make them feel good, or that they enjoy.
