There are literally 1,000,000 things you can choose to do to be a better Christian than deny service to gay people.... And yet, some people think this is the best way to please God as a small business owner.

If you call that a religion, then yes, you're asking for a war and youre gonna get it. And youre going to lose.

If I were to agree with you, I'd have to believe in the narrative:

  • Christians are the only ones denying service concerning this political topic
  • Gays would never deny service
  • Christians are denying service to gays based on their orientation, not their behavior or activity.
  • Private businesses (including owners and employees) are exempt from the freedom to exercise religion.
  • 1-2% of the population's freedoms are on the line, not 90%.

Christians are starting a war by drawing this line in the sand. They just need to prepared for the fallout. And that fallout is going to be brutal and have lasting negative consequences on bible belt economies. But if those are your religious beliefs, then I guess you need to stick by them as your local economy collapses.

Dont forget that Jesus died on the cross.

I think you're misunderstanding the situation- It's not just Christians who are drawing lines, it's fucking everyone. The gays are drawing lines, the leftists draw lines, Muslims, Jews, Atheists, everyone has their limits. To say that, "I do not want to be forced to go against my religion" in America is to say, "I have the first amendment on my side." Who or what do you have on your side? I'm trying to figure that out. Maybe Hitler? He sure knew how to get his way.

Where are these other groups drawing lines? The discriminatory bills are pushed through by the Christian Right.

Give me the bills that are discriminating that are passed by Christians only. I'll find you in every case that the general public backed the same bills. The only discrimination passed is the definition of marriage. You'll find many, many non-christians who want to uphold American tradition.

Why would you have to believe any of those things to understand that Jesus did not tell his followers to shun sinners and judge others?

Jesus said to resist sin to the point of death. If a Christian believes that honoring something that God calls an abomination is a sin, he should refuse it. To mock him for such beliefs is bigotry.

He's talking about your own sin. He said not to worry about anyone else's sin since that is God's job.

I'll take your word for it. I saw that you have a Masters Degree in bullshitting.

Or maybe I've read the Gospel? You know you've lost the argument when you result to insults, and childish ones at that.

I haven't lost anything. You're asserting something that clearly isn't true. Not only have you not read the Gospel, you lack any understanding from what you've heard. To give you an honest debate on the Bible, the Message, and the Gospel is more useless than a fart in a blizzard. There is no point in giving you the benefit of the doubt when you're not interested in learning. You've already made it clear that when anecdotes fit into your agenda, it must be right.

Excuse me what agenda do I have? Everything I have said is my best understanding of the way Christianity works. All you have done is made crude jokes about farts and shit.

The agenda is to label Christians as bigots. Dang, that was very hard to figure out.

He also beat the crap out of people in a temple for profaning a holy place.

The Roman Empire and the Soviet Union are in the dust bin of history, yet Christianity remains. History teaches otherwise.

It is amazing to me how much time conservative Christians spend talking about gays compared to how often the bible mentions them.

Near the top of that list: love your neighbor and don't judge others.
