Seems like everyone should be happy with the outcome. The joke was changed. The backer gave his permission for it to be changed and wrote the new one. The new joke pokes fun at the people who were offended.

Everyone wins.

More precisely no one wins. This is just another show that outrage can get anything changed, and you folks at Ghazi should realize it will turn on you sooner rather than later. Outrage censorship is never...ever a good thing.

Except the next devs who get hassled over bullshit like this because Obsidian rewarded these assholes- maybe over something more important to the game than a throwaway joke.

There is a problem that they saw it needing a change in the first place.

The game isn't friendly one and thematically I don't see it much worse than the content by writers in game. Most of characters in game aren't very nice people... As such it would have fitted right in...

No ghazi, we aren't happy because an innocent joke once again was used as an opportunity for radical feminists to throw a hissy fit and get content censored. This was lead by someone who proudly claims we should #killallmen. Straight up hate speech, yet couched in the guise of progressiveness. Hope you're proud of your little movement, you become more fascist by the day.

Tell that to the next team attacked by these people, emboldened by their success here.

"Wasn't put through the vetting process" means that they told him that they couldn't include his submission, and it had to be changed. I doubt that this "vetting" process existed for other backer submissions, so I do think they kind of fucked this backer over a little.

Still, they've shown they support the actions of bullies. They gave these people a win, so that they can hide, meanwhile they will attack somebody else who is more vulnerable to their bullshit.

I like the joke at their expense, but it doesn't change anything. Games and gamers lose.

"Wow, that's much better!"

They said that it now - retroactively - didn't pass their vetting process.

It's misleading to then say that it was changed with the backers permission - it was forcibly changed. That's what a "vetting process" does. It's not optional.

"Permission" means that it wouldn't have happened if the person didn't give permission. But it would have happened anyway. So permission is the wrong word to use.
