Vigilante justice is outlawed because the state doesn't want people to accept that it isn't the final authority.

You cede a portion of your authority to the state as part of the cost of living there. That is the bargain struck by any non-anarchic society and is probably mirrored in animal societies too... flocking birds come to mind as well as schools of fish.

This is often at the COST of justice.

Oh yes, because vigilante justice has a marvelous track record of accountability, recording their steps, allowing the accused a fair hearing, giving both sides a champion to argue their point and above all else fairness to minorities and the disenfranchised.

I am for justice, and it looks like it was served here.

You're not though. You're for a single person declaring themselves judge, jury, and executioner over the life and survival of another person because of unsubstantiated criminal behavior.

Pedophilia is a disorder, however they should be given help rather than prison and segregation and feel good laws that wont prevent it from happening again.

I'm all for doing what works. I also am all for being a man near death who raped my child.

Being black and being killed for it is a social reaction, it can't be helped that he is black. However we can help by teaching to not be raciest.

The parallel you are attempting to make both makes very little sense and could easily be construed as offensive. Child rapists are not even in the same ballpark as people with dark skin. These aren't related issues.

You can teach people to not be bigots, and you can teach people to not beat up child rapists, but those are two unrelated things.

We can help pedophilia by teaching them the correct way to act in society and helping them with there wants and needs.

I am for doing what works. So long as that isn't "let them rape kids and get away with it".

Pedophilia was accepted by the Romans.

First off, as much as I love Ancient rome, it was hardly an ideal civilization. Secondly, the romans had very strict rules about who was off limits.

Basically once a child ~~was sexually mature~~ went through the rite of passage ~~(their rite of passing etc)~~ something like that, it was acceptable. Similar to our turning 18.
