For those of you who don't know, long ago, /r/marijuana was the place for stoners to hang out until some mod drama happened. That drama led to /r/trees being created and it has now become the stoner haven of reddit. Eventually, someone wanted an actual tree related subreddit and so, tongue firmly in cheek, they created/r/marijuanaenthusiasts.

It is a very common occurrence for new posters to get the two subreddits confused. Each time this happens the confused poster is pointed in the right direction and usually offered help with their plant/tree anyway. The confusion is always defused in a friendly fashion and upvotes are thrown around despite the posts being off topic. This all changed yesterday, though. The dendrophiles of /r/marijuanaenthusiasts wanted to flood /r/trees with pictures of trees. Then a mod from /r/trees stepped in to kindly ask that it stop as /r/trees hadn't planned on participating in any April's Fools jokes. Much butthurt was had.

Finally, this sticky had to be posted at the top of /r/marijuanaenthusiasts.

I've been waiting for drama to erupt between these subs for two years now and it's finally happened. Also, this is my first post here so yell at me if I'm doing it wrong.
