This past day has been a revelation to me personally.

The sub is supposed to be a place for active discussion for everything 2k. And has been moderated pretty softly as we haven't really had any trouble.

What baffles me is when we get people who actually have good insight into the game, who play 2k for a living, who are inside the 2k franchise or anything like that show any interest. Some (a minority of people) show complete disrespect and squander the good community we have.

I'd like to remind everyone of the reddit guidelines. Down voting should only be used on comments that do not contribute to discussion. Disagreeing with something does not warrant a down vote. And it does not warrant a response with negative emotion or anger.

Anything that contributes toward cyber bullying or that can be portrayed that way will not be tolerated.

I'm gonna get down voted but i don't care. I'm going to stand by my opinion when I say that these people that "play 2k for a living" and are "inside the 2k franchise" are complete fucks. They stand by 2k though they continue to treat us like absolute dog shit. When people like nickthebullsfan tweets a sob story about how he was cyber bullied on reddit all I can do is sit back and laugh. If nick treats us (the community) so poor by standing by 2k for a pay check then he's not welcome here. Simple as that.

They have nothing to offer us, they come here to self-promote, and if they want our respect they shouldn't complain to their followers about how we aren't happy to be in their presence

I really think this is getting out of hand now. I know I'm not innocent in this whole thing, but this is ridiculous. Both sides aren't innocent here. The ones claiming cyberbullying and calling the community toxic and awful are contributing to this shit just as much as the ones 'cyberbullying' Nick.

I agree a lot of the comments in the thread went too far, but I think erupting it after it was already finished did nothing at all to help the problem, and in fact contributed to it. What was the point of calling people out long after the thread had mostly died out? Removing it and moving on would have probably ended this immediately.

While I disagree and regret what was said in that thread, it wasn't as big of a deal until people who thought they were doing the right thing decided to escalate it to the point where our sub is basically a warzone.

This community is toxic. I mean right now you're trying to say that people defending a youtuber being called every name in the book are just as bad as the people spewing the hate? Your mod was the one that posted the new thread today, how about deal with that before you go pointing fingers elsewhere.

I don't see what he did wrong. Nick tweeted about our sub and he simply shared it. I think our community has a right to know when a big name is talking about us. All he was doing was sharing what was said about us, nothing wrong with that at all.

Also, you're not grasping what I meant. I'm not saying the people defending Nick are as bad as the people spewing hate, I'm saying we wouldn't be in the situation we are right now if both sides weren't riling each other up and constantly going back and forth in a pointless argument that could and should have been left alone by now.

Can a moderator please point out to where in the "youtubers get locker codes" thread that cyber bullying occurred?

There was a lot of relevant info in that thread that needed to be seen. I didn't notice any blatant hatred or silly down voting.

That thread was not as bad as some of the other things that have been posted here recently because of the Locker Code controversy. Even before the past few days, this sub's hate of 2K-Focused YouTubers not named Chris Smoove is ridiculous.

If you want examples, look through this thread or basically any other threads involving YouTubers and you'll find plenty of comments that would be considered cyberbullying by most.

Well I removed a few 'shut the fuck ups' etc. In response to the tubers just explaining the situation. Before any to and fro even started.

I've had to remove racist stuff about Ronnie in the past. That user or users got banned.

But even if removed. The notification still gets sent to the op. Especially on a mobile app like alien blue.

I started a thread without any intention of flaming it and when I saw that happening I reached out to you guys and said that I didn't mean to flame the sub and that you guys were free to delete if you wanted to.

One of the mods started a thread that flamed the sub and is going bonkers. Have you read it?

If that is allowed then have the other thread back and mod it. I was trying to be nice and stop the hate from spreading even more.

Yes, I do. I guess one of the other mods meant to remove and may have misclicked. I have removed it now.

Although, we still like to let you all have some freedom when posting. We don't want to remove everything that could be borderline controversial. Even when we disagree we still want you guys to speak your minds.

I said that on Twitter after I took your post down.

I started cleaning up and now it's 3am and I have work at 8am.

I also said that some points were valid. So some posts will be left up. When I clean it all up tomorrow I'll probably re add yours and clean out the comments etc.

This thread here wasn't necessarily to name and shame. Throw out bans and move on. But more to tell people that there is a point when it gets too far. It seems that point has been missed.

I think posts like the one about NickTheBullsFan should just be taken down. Like honestly, if you don't like the guy, all you're doing is feeding him with more views, and then the comments on the post were unnecessary too. Who cares if the guy can be a douche, there's no need for it in /r/NBA2k.

Apart from that, we do get some real good quality discussions in this community every so often, so that's good.

Its a catch 22 really. The weekly vent thread just gets filled with ronnie2k comments. Some of it that gets removed is frankly disgusting.

But, as a community negative must still be represented. Criticism is welcomed but bullying is not. Sometimes the line is blurred.

How about addressing the fact that one of your mods was one of the people involved? I see his extremely insightful top comment "hahahaha" was deleted but I still see them on the sidebar. Can't really expect the rest of this "community" to act any different if one of the mods is a participant.

So it's okay for you to post negative shit about an actual person, but me disagreeing with popular opinions is just me complaining or being negative. You obviously have an issue when anyone disagrees, hence posting a brand new thread today with the sole purpose of trashing the same dude all over again. You can try to turn it around on me any way you like, but obviously nothing I've ever posted has been so "negative" that it had to be removed or had a mod announcement to address the general shittiness that it was promoting on this sub. Can't agree on the "play it for a living have more insight". Most of the youtubers just open up packs, have bitchin teams cause of dosh and are still in seed 5. I won seed 1 multiple times and have a stacked team without spending a dime. Do I think I have big insight, no. But what I do have for sure is insight in the replay value of the "main" part, and that is RTTP. Its zero.
