To be fair, this drama has nothing to do with fatpeoplehate's fat people hate. It seems to be a sudden blurb of problems that bled out from the mod private chats into something weird that the mods are still arguing over, which is what is actually causing the drama.

I am amazed by how many subs it has.. Uniting like that and outright hating a whole group of people because they are fat and mocking them and laughing.. I feel those people just need something to feel better about themselves and fat people were the perfect target for them to pick on.

Eh, I think it's a case of wanting to feel superior to someone. Socially, it's much more acceptable to hate on something that is at least nominally a choice (like obesity) than something that is unchangeable (like race or sexual orientation). Hating fat people is the "ok" way to treat other people as trash.
