I still believe Kessel is easily worth the $8m cap hit. Put him on a team with a legitimate 1C in a market without the insane amount of reporters writing anything for page views and he's well worth it.

He's playing on a demoralized team that doesn't have any skilled centers besides Kadri who isn't paired with him. The same team filled with players that knows there will be big changes coming and their futures are uncertain.

It's not a good place to be in. It's not as if his production magically went away and he is now on the decline just one year after being named the best forward in Sochi while playing with a definite 1C.

Umm.. He gets to choose who he's playing with. Don't give me that shit. Kessel made bozak a 1C. If it weren't for kessel being in the prime of his career when bozak came to town, bozak wouldn't be playing where he is.

All completely baseless. Leafs have been separating Kadri and Kessel to spread offence, our lines are horrid besides the top line if they are both together.

I know that Bozak is not a 1C, but he is a NHL C. Anywhere from 2C-3C depending on the team.

Again, as I just said: start basing your comments on rationality instead of emotion. But anyway..

What do you want him to do? Throw his body around and crash the net? That's not the kind of player he is; judge him by how well he plays his game. He's having an off year and there are still flaws in his game, but when I see him play, I do see someone who tries. Could he work harder? Of course, everyone on the team can, but there's literally zero reason for these guys to sacrifice their bodies at this point. These guys are focused on the off season just like we should be too.
