very eye opening! Might be worth pointing out (you probably inferred this yourself but in case you hadn't) the assumption is that the very beautiful woman earned a lot of the up votes and the themed hoodie only earned a few. Where as the what looks like bacon wrapped tortoises earned a lot of the upvotes in the first link, not the balding bearded man posing with his creation. In the TLDR link however, they are reversed images. The man goes from looking like a drug addict to looking like a person who has conformed to mainstream society where as the woman does the opposite (though shorter hair was probably already in fashion at the time and she doesn't look like a drug addict). Now if you reversed the chronological order of those two photos for each example, the man's post would have earned tons of karma provided there was a witty enough title, where as the woman's probably would have earned none no matter what the title. A hard comparison to make with that TLDR one but still eye opening, it is just the woman's post is basically pointing out "hey look at my drastic change in hair style/length" where as the man's is pointing out "hey look at how much my physical appearance has changed in a wide variety of ways as far as society is concerned" (druggy to clean cut vs. conformal/conservative to free spirited/trendy) One is clearly more drastic but the insane difference in the responses shown in the picture is disproportionate and quite disgusting. All that being said I only looked at about 5 links there :P
