A lot of people feel the national anthem doesn't fit the country. Druzes are some of the most loyal citizens the country has. Christian Arabs are also citizens. Tzadalnikim were kicked out of their home for their beliefs. Israel is the holiest place on earth for many religions. And yet our anthem only addresses one. How much is this a problem? Each person has his own answer. I personally think the anthem should not be changed for various reasons. But the debate is a legitimate one. The Zionist Camp is definitely Zionistic and pro Israel. They have freaking former heads of the Mossad and Shabak on their list. As a right wing voter I definitely empathize with their views, even if I disagree. And Stav Shapir may be one of the only politicians with integrity in this country. Even if I disagree with her views, I wholeheartedly support a lot of her good work.

There is a point to be made for Meretz crossing the line (Zahava Galon said that the Daesh situation would resolve itself once the Palestinians have a country). There are problematic elements in the extreme left wing. I find Tzippi Livni herself to be a highly revolting individual. I disliked her ever since she dissed Olmert when he was PM and she was a member of his party. She seems to be a backstabbing opportunistic snake with zero compunctions, but it's not like she's the only politician like that.

But calling the ZU an anti Israeli party is offensive.

We have reached a terrible state in Israel that is like the US. Both big political sides are smearing each other instead of doing their jobs and everything is becoming more biased. Fox News hated on Clinton because he lied. Then MSNBC made Dubya out to be a psychopathic idiot child murderer. Then Fox started dissing everything Obama did even when it was things like the Bin Laden assassination. Replace Fox with Israel Hayom and MSNBC with Yediot and remove CNN as a factor of moderation and you have what's happening in Israel. The right/left divide is insane. I'd like to think this is new but Rabin was called a traitor at the time so... fuck...

As if "God save the queen" or tons of other national anthems represent all the people of those countries.

It's part of the reason I disagree with them.
