Oh please. You guys are guilty of the same stupid, emotional reasoning as the people you make fun of. Your reply has 0 substance to it. You've basically said nothing other than "it's not a dialect because it's not a dialect because it's stupid!"

Language evolves. It has since the beginning. There are transcripts of people complaining about the same shit you're complaining about (young people using the language "wrong"), written in English so archaic it's not readable by English speakers today. Dialects emerge based on class, location, race, etc. That's how French, Italian, Spanish, and other romance languages formed from Latin. People back then were bitching about it too. Now French is considered a "high brow" language. There's no inherent goodness or badness in the words and syllables that make it up, just attitudes that society has towards it. Every single word in your reply was "butchered" from whatever its previous version was. And guess what? It's gonna change again, because somebody's dialect will use it or spell it a little differently. This is a feature of all living languages.

It's funny how people usually have no problem accepting dialects besides AAVE/ebonics. Nobody says that Scottish English isn't a dialect, but just consistently mispronounced American English. Nobody has a problem with the fact that vowels are pronounced differently all the place even just within America. I've never heard anybody say with a straight face that "coche" is the correct way to say car in Spanish, and "carro" is just a "butchering" of the correct word. If I wrote out "give me the cahh keys", I might get replies and upvotes from other Bostonians who found it charming. But the second anybody brings up AAVE around here, everybody flies off the handle about how it's not correct.

It's funny, all you've done is write out the way you think black people sound when they talk. Examples 1 and 3 aren't even grammatically incorrect in standard English. 2 has negative concord, which is used by people of all races (though yes, it is a feature of AAVE. And of many other languages like French, Spanish, and Greek).

Does that matter? Different forms of language (termed social registers) are used for different situations. That fact does not preclude the legitimacy of other dialects used in other situations. We all grow up acquiring a specific regional variation of a language. What we learn in school is not anyone's native dialect of English; it's a literary standard that is useful for formal settings but is not the "one true English."

Think of what we call a language, like English, to not really be a coherent thing (because it isn't). What we call English is actually a vast collection of mutually intelligible dialects, differences between which can be found at virtually any analyzable level of societal organization -- from individuals, to families, to speech communities, to cities, to regions, to countries. "English" is just a pattern of shared consensus, but doesn't have to be a universal consensus.

Yes it does because that means that in the context of formal speaking (IE: school work, publications, most newspaper articles) it wouldn't be considered appropriate.

I know that a language includes multiple different dialects, however, the goal of language is to present your ideas in a way that they might be easily understood to your audience. Clearly if I were talking to my friend I use different language than if I were talking to my professor in the context of a research paper.

I'm just pointing out that formally speaking Chav English, Southern Drawl, Ebonics, are not considered acceptable formats of speaking in academic context. Moreover, (except in select contexts) people, even in an informal scenario, are not generally going to understand so it's usually helpful to tailor your language such that it will be better understood by others (assuming of course that is the intention).
