Rules

  1. This place is not a direct line to Chris and Jeremy. Yes, they do use reddit (/u/cinemasins) but are not here for you to yell at them. Please be kind and respectful to all users, including them, so they will keep using reddit.
  2. Do not post new Cinema Sins videos. Jeremy, who runs their reddit account, will post it.
  3. Please use the above submission buttons to request sins. Requests must be tagged accordingly, must be self posts, and must be indicative of what is being requested. Movie requests must have at least 3 of your own sins in the text field.
  4. Posts that are not requests or links must promote meaningful discussions.
  5. Comments may not be spam, personal attacks, hateful, or obvious attempts at trolling. For a better idea on what's expected, check the reddiquette.

Failure to follow the rules will result in appropriate action, which may vary based on severity.

Hi there. Here's my side of the story.
It all started when we added /u/peetrius as a mod. We added him to the skype chat. From the start, he was distinguishing comments unnecessarily, acting rude in the skype chat, and not being an effective moderator. 3 days ago, another current mod of this sub, as well as another user, brought his activity to my attention. What we did was the rest of the mods talked. Together. We came to the verdict that he was not representing the subreddit particularly well, and was acting out of line. So, I messaged him privately.
[3/16/15, 7:45:27 AM] jortbru1299: Dude you gotta tone down that kinda talk
[3/16/15, 7:45:36 AM] jortbru1299: A ban is not the answer
[3/16/15, 7:45:53 AM] jortbru1299: I will remove you as mod if that behavior continues.
Notice the date on this is 3/16/15. One of his major arguments was that we did not tell him before we demodded him. We did that, too.
Here's what we said when we released him as a moderator.
Thanks for your time, /u/peetrius. We as a mod team just felt like you were not meeting the high expectations that the CinemaSins subreddit and the rest of the mod team need. Thanks for your time, and we wish you the best of luck in your future moderatorships. jortbru1299
So we did.

Tonight, we started receiving comments from him, posted to the most recent sins video thread. I'll let you formulate your own opinions.

text: Funny coincidence how the Sin Suggestion Thread was posted a day before this.
Since the moderator who posted the reply calling me out on my supposed false accusations here's a screen shot and text of the reply I was going to make until he or another mod deleted it.
Text:
/u/pyth110 It's not really funny, it was planned that way. Remember when we talked about it in the Skype mod chat?
my reply: It was hardly planned that way in the skype chat. jortbru made that decision on his own without consulting the chat. Here's the exact message of his reasoning
>well I want to get the SST participation up again, and if people see it was actually a video, they will want to participate again.
Although it's nice to get participation up he removed me because I called him out on making sin suggestion threads which the mods don't even care about the sins they wanted requested.
/u/subnam rewatched the movie to suggest sins that you jortbru knew weren't even going to make it into the video because it would be released the next day. even /u/piano1987 recognized how useless it is to make a sin suggestion thread for a video that was already finished. I asked what's the point of doing this and even said that this was a poor way to get the community involved, but immediately after I said that ardvark and jortbru said I was being removed.

Here was my thought process for the SST this week.
And so few of you lot participated in the SST before this video came out? I was trying to see if you all thought like Chris and Jeremy.
And that was that. /u/peetrius thinks that the only reason we removed him was because of his comments relating to this SST. It was not. Here are the messages he sent in the skype chat.

Here's what he said about how the rest of us are "jealous" of him.
[3/13/15, 6:16:26 PM] Peetrius: 100k is the lowest it looks like
[3/13/15, 6:16:37 PM] jortbru1299: How do you know?
[3/13/15, 6:17:38 PM] Peetrius: because I got gold and you guys didn't.
[3/13/15, 6:17:46 PM] Peetrius: /r/slowcooking has 136k subs
[3/13/15, 6:18:00 PM] Peetrius: I would have gotten it regardless since /r/4chan has 600k
[3/13/15, 6:18:07 PM] Peetrius: http://i.imgur.com/WGI15QL.png
Basically he said that we were too irrelevant to get gold.

In conclusion. I have been humiliated and my integrity has been questioned all throughout tonight. I take great offense at the accusations that have been placed upon me.
Feel free to look here.
I hope everyone is able to formulate their own opinions on the matter. If anyone wants to ask me any more questions, go ahead. I want to be open with everyone.

Wow dude, first and foremost, its really unprofessional of you as a mod (and the rest of the mods) to air out all your dirty laundry for the entire subreddit to see.
If I were /u/peetrius, I would messaging the admins about this, because it certainly seems like you are leading a witch hunt against him for a tiny disagreement you had on a skype chat. In fact, maybe I will send a personal message to the administrators myself on behalf oh him. This isn't the way you act when you remove a moderator. Its petty and as I said before, it's unprofessional.
Second, you actually do seem jealous of not getting gold if you are even posting about it. Its fucking gold dude, you can't even do anything with it.
Edit: I went ahead and messaged the admins. http://imgur.com/bWLhpsH

Yep. The only thing we should be hearing is that someone isn't a mod anymore.

You realize reddiquette is much more in depth than that right?
Why don't you take a look under the "dont's" tab. It should be the 5th one down.

Reddiquette is an informal expression of reddit's community values as written by the community itself. Informal means unofficial in this context. ;)

Whatever you say pal, I have had dealings with the admins before about users inciting witch hunts, and from what I have experienced , they do not agree with it because it leads to vote manipulation and doxxing and other things.

Assuming one thing always leads to others is called the slippery slope fallacy. If it comes to vote manipulation and doxxing, the admins will do what they do best. Since it hasn't come to this yet, we're all still good.

Funny how you say that, since your original account got shadowbanned for doxxing /u/peetrius.

I know. I don't really mind, can't say I lost anything of value. If anything, it's a clean slate, which is pretty fucking awesome.

Yeah, its totally awesome how you doxxed someone you worked with previously.
Wait, I mean, its the opposite of awesome. Its scummy.
