They don't cut 7 month olds out at all as far as I'm aware. 24 weeks is the limit in the UK.

That's total bullshit. No clinic in Canada would ever terminate a pregnancy after the first trimester without tremendous health concerns for the mother. The born alive rule just means it's not murder.

First of all, don't believe a word of what they just said. And second of all, no clinic in Canada would ever terminate a pregnancy that late unless the mother's life was in very serious danger.

They were joking. If you're in labour and decide you don't want a baby, what do you think the doctor would do with your alive, healthy infant? Just throw it, crying, into the garbage and let the janitor incinerate it, alive, with the rest of the trash? If this was happening in public hospitals you'd have heard of it by now.

In most places I think it's until the 2nd trimester, then after that they give you other options if you don't want the baby, like adoption.

Why? What's the difference between 24 and 25 weeks? I seriously want someone who thinks abortion is OK to answer that question well. I don't believe it can be done.

Fetal lung development and presence of surfactant... Earliest birth is 22ish weeks because anytime birth is earlier the lung development isn't there.. We don't have a good bypass for this problem yet.

Not taking sides, but this is generally why abortion laws tend to focus on times around mid-20s week wise. Take these fetuses from the mother and they cannot survive as an independent being.. They need the symbiosis with the mother.
