Less classes per semester, you know some people are placed in situations that force them to take responsibility for more pressing matters. There's plenty of reasons.

Could have been a number of things. I got cancer after my first semester in college (2003). I graduated with my bachelor's in 2011, master's in 2014. Obviously life always goes as planned for you.

Sorry, not trying to be tangential, and I apologize for typing the last sentence about your life always going as planned... when I read it now it sounds childish and spiteful.

Just wanted to make a point that life can take an unexpected turn. I think it was the way you phrased your question that made it sound critical of OP- maybe I interpreted it wrong.
